Paul Williams, TEN WR (2 Viewers)

redman

Does any follower of the Titans know what the situation is with Paul Williams? I drafted him in a deep dynasty league knowing full well that he'd be a developmental type of player, given that he was drafted as a raw but supremely physically talented player out of Fresno State. To my knowledge he hasn't once even suited up- don't think he's been active at all.

Ordinarily I wounldn't worry given that I knew he was a developmental player, but he's not exactly on a team with a great WR corps, so it makes me wonder whether he's making a poor impression of some kind. There's no news out there to be found on him, so does anyone know?

11/3 update

Coming on: He's been inactive the first seven games, but rookie receiver Paul Williams is beginning to make strides on the practice field.

"You're starting to see some of the attributes he has," General Manager Mike Reinfeldt said. "People do it at different speeds and you can see he has gotten better over the last several weeks. He has to keep that going.''

Williams said he's learning from the veterans, has a better understanding of the offense and an improved focus.

"Hopefully I'm getting closer to being out there,'' the third-round pick said. "Injuries happen, so you have to be ready. You have to prepare each week like you're about to play.''
As far as I'm concerned, his situation is getting better, simply because there isn't even a starting quality WR on the gameday active roster right now. They have no choice but to give Williams a go, and have faith that he works out.

Thanks for the update, Sig. I know you're familiar with the league I referred to. :goodposting:

That article is all well and good, but he's been inactive for each of the three games since then, which makes me wonder whether that's not just a little fluff to keep a guy's chin up. I'm not going to cut him, but if you can't even get into the lineup as a WR5 on special teams or something, I have to wonder a little about you.

You should cut him
