Paul Williams, WR? CB? (1 Viewer)

Does anyone think they have a good bead on if he will play WR or defense? I've seen games of his and although his numbers don't look impressive (6'1" ~210, 4.4something 40) he plays bigger and much faster than he is timed IMO, and he incredibly strong for a WR. He also has long arms and monstrous hands for his height.

I also read he may not be 100% dedicated to playing WR and may be affected by the death of his brother, who died from a football related injury.

Does anyone have any confident information more than what I listed or are we all about on the same page?

He's a WR all the way if you ask me.

Just because his frame is not impressive in ht/wt,, dont think he's not impressive, his athleticism is tremendous. He can make plays that only a few other guys in this draft class can make. The problem is his execution is not consistent. Sometimes he's transcendent, sometimes he's barely there.

Cecil pointed out strongly that while he stood out at the Shrine Game, he blended in in Mobile.

I talked to him in Mobile after a practice, the interview is here and he only seemed like a good guy to me. The death of his brother may be partially responsible for the wavering focus, I really don't know. Another brother was a first down pick that played on the Bill SB teams. He's got the physical talent, there's no question - long arms, good hands, good speed, strong stride, good body control, fluid - its just that he's maddeningly inconsistent. He had a long TD where he got behind the D in the Shrine Game - awesome, he showboated on the way into the end zone - ugh. That's Williams in a nutshell - his possible fates cover a wide spectrum.

Thanks for the fast reply! You must be a robot or something Bloom. I appreciate the link to the interview, I guess I was too lazy to find it myself. :wall:
