PDSL1 Draft thread (1 Viewer)

I'm here . . . just trying to guess who might be available after these couple of picks. It's tough guessing who will be taken in the 28 players between picks.
You pick again after two more picks. If you're trying to figure out Lhucks' next selection, look for the AARP logo after their name.
Well no duh. I obviously meant AFTER my 5.02 pick. And Arud is around so you may not have to go anywhere.
He wants more time to recover from that awful Jordan pick. :excited: just jokes bass

4.15 Todd Heap, TE, BAL
Highway robbery. He should have been gone 20 picks ago. I'd have taken him in the third if I thought that the WRs available at picks 77 and 84 would be good enough to fill a starting slot. This is the #1 reason it sucks to be at the bottom of the first round - you really don't have a lot of opportunities to grab a guy at QB/TE and still be competitive at the five RB/WR slots.

Disagree strongly here. Heap is only a robbery relative to how early other TEs went. You'll have plenty of opportunities to get other TEs who will represent the same value relative to when they're picked.

On the topic of TE value in this particular league...this year is interesting because I think the third/fourth tier backs are all super risk. There's relatively little seperation in the WRs over the top 25.

TE on the other hand I see a huge dropoff between Gates and the second tier. I also see an even bigger dropoff after the second tier. Additionally, I only see a few potential sleeper TE picks...hence my Gates selection.

TE is razor thin this year.

Not trying to start a run...I know most of you have your own ideas, but just giving a little more reasoning on my Gates selection.

I like to discuss this more later after the rest of the drafts pans out. Agree with you on Gates, but not the other comment.

Well, that sums up my reasoning for taking Gates at 1.12 in WSL.

Using last year's stats:Gates 77/985/9 = 306 points in this systemWinslow 89/925/3 = 288 points in this system (injured)Gonzo 77/925/6 = 282 points in this systemHeap 73/765/6 = 258 points in this systemShockey 66/623/7 = 236 points in this systemNobody else comes close. Heap is a huge value considering that he went four picks after Shockey, 15 picks after the injured Winslow, 25 picks after Gonzo, and 45 picks after Gates.

FWIW, I expect Gates' numbers to increase and Winslow's and Gonzo's to decrease.

That's exactly why I think Heap was such a steal.
