Duke PM'ed me last night saying he was back and that I should continue to pick until he got caught up. He last logged in at 8 this morning so I would assume he's caught up. Should I PM him letting him know he's up and give him a while to pick, or should I continue to pick until he tells me to stop?

Your call. I'd definitely go ahead and send him the PM, though.

I think you should pick.

I'll go ahead and pick I guess

13.10 Michael Pittman RB TB

Having Rudi and Dom with the same bye forces the RB pick here

the NFL schedule is a ####.

I lose my RB1 and RB2 to the same bye week.

also lose my QB1, QB2, and TE1 to the same bye week.

I think we should have waited until after the NFL schedule was released to start these drafts.
would we be done by the draft? then the SSL's start right after. You had some bad luck man.
I think the schedule questions are part of the WSL/PDSL equation. That said, we probably could have finished these prior to the NFL draft had we waited to start until the unveiling of the NFL schedule.

:lmao: theres always hockey man
Aaron did you stay up and watch the 4 OT game ???
I wish I could, but work the next day would really suck. After the 1st OT ended, I set the DVR and went to sleep.Probably would only stay up to the end of a game like that if the Sabres were involved.
I remember in the SCF's wings vs Carolina game3 . Triple OT, me and my FFL buddies were on a road trip to Pittsburgh for baseball of all things and that night the Tyson - Lennox Lewis fight was on. Needless to say we were the only guys in the whole bar watching the SCF that game was tense tense tense. I can only imagine how that game was last nite . Heck it was probably on when I woke up this am

So Ruds and I just happened to each have 2 of the 4 QBs off on Week 9. How cruel is that.

I hope we're both still alive so we can limp to be not last that week.....

Jabar Gaffney
I had such high hopes for him before they brought in Stallworth and Welker and Washington.
 I didn't. I had a feeling that Gaffney would be overrated this year until the pickups you mentioned. But now he's being a little underrated. Welker/Brown = slotStallworth/Caldwell/Gaffney competing for the outside WR spots. Washington does not appear to be competing for a starting spot. Gaffney's a flier. The other guys could and likely will be ahead of him at the start of the season, but Brady was developing a chemistry with this guy and I see him having a couple good games this season. With as light as I'm going at WR, he's the kind of guy I'm looking for.

13.15 - Hank Baskett

Not sure why the potential #2 for the Eagles is still on the board. :bag:

Love this kid,

6'4" 220, 21.1 YPC as a rookie...as a matter of fact it's time to start a Baskett '07 thread.

Baskett will be either the #3 or #4 WR in PHI. Unless you think they paid Curtis $6.5 million a year to be a part time contributor (and who really knows how much of that he'll ever see). When you factor in Westbrook and Smith into the equation, Baskett will be the 5th or 6th receiving option. You asked, I answered. He may still have a couple of good games in this format, but I don't see any chance he's the #2 barring a major injury to Brown or Curtis. He's still a decent pick this late because he WILL have those 2-3 good games (and thus score in this league in those weeks), but IMO expecting him to be an NFL starter is a pipe dream at this point.

Caldwell > Gaffney
I agree with this, although Caldwell made some huge mistakes in the AFCCG. I don't think Gaffney will be the opening day starter, but none of the guys available right now seem likely to be either.
At this point, I would not be certain Gaffney will even make the opening day roster. Depending upon who comes back and who stays healthy, they may have more WRs than roster sports to keep Gaffney.

A) I doubt Avant beats out Baskett for the #3 WRB) I think the best player will get the starting job and while I think Curtis is a heavy favorite, both he and Reggie Brown are far from proven IMHO.

Right now I think the starting three will be Caldwell, Stallworth and Welker, with Gaffney backing up Caldwell/Stallworth and Brown backing up Welker. Washington seems like the odd man out to me, not Gaffney. I understand there's a training camp competition to be had, but that could favor Gaffney just as much as it could shoo him out the door. I honestly wouldn't be any more surprised to see Gaffney make the starting lineup than I would to see him cut.

There are certainly guys who as of this moment hope their teams don't sign someone else, thus leaving them as opening day starting WRs available right now.
Fixed.
Wrong, but nice attempt.

I have been staying away from NE WRs altogether. If I had to pick one that I would consider, it would probably be Welker because I think he will get enough receptions to make him have some value in the WR 60 range. IMO, Stallworth is too risky for where he's getting drafted and Caldwell should see a dropoff compared to last year with other guys now in the mix. Now that I look at it, Caldwell and Welker seem to have been both going near each other ADP wise, so I guess they both might be options in leagues like this. But in a regular size redraft league, forget it if there's limited roster space.

Baskett vs. Avant for the #3. Curtis will be the stretch the field guy that they need (and they LOVE the big play). Curtis will move down into the slot in 3 WR sets, so a bigger target (Hank or Avant) will line up outside of him.

I count three guys that IMO are starters as WR2s but not yet rostered, and they likely would be replaced if their teams signed a free agent or drafted a top rookie.

Completely agree with avoiding all Patriots WRs in normal drafts.
