going to give it a shot...if it sucks I think i'll be canceling Showtime. even if it's mediocre not sure I want to keep shelling out $10/month for it

lets see...Dd Frankenstein...vampires ...a western gunfighter...the chick from james bonds live and let die (the card reader and the gunfighter picks a card and it says lovers)....a jack the ripper guy running around? And thats just the first episode....how many ripoffs will be in this?

Well, that's the point.

Seems pretty well put together as far as sets and atmosphere. Also feels like there will be several levels to the story (beyond finding Bond's daughter). It's not cheesy, has monsters, set in old England, I'm in for a while.

It's certainly as odd mix. I saw from Wiki that Dorian Gray is also a main character. I'm not sure how he fits in with vampires and monsters, but why not.

So this is really The League of Extraordinary Gentleman, but with a different name?

this is what i was thinking too. i'm ok with it on those terms. i like that it has all of this jumbled because they wouldn't be enough to stand on their own. it gives it no shortage of places to go.

Watched the 1st episode---the Johnson to nude women ratio was about 10 to 0 and is not a good way to start things.

Some of the dialogue scenes were too long---it needs more action. I found myself trying to stay interested.

I will give it a chance, but it is on a short leash.

The Frankenstein guy looks like Aaron Lewis the lead singer of Staind.

Gave this a chance based on solid critic reviews. First episode was terrible, second episode was much much better. That seance was pretty damn cool and unlike anything have seen on TV before. The ending was pretty neat as well. In a cast filled with famous names, I felt the best acting was done by the Frankenstein monster who barely spoke.

Hartnett was on Fallon tonight, he described the premise of the show as being set in 1891 London, and involves a bunch of characters from classic horror literature, supposing they all lived in the same place at the same time, as real people - Frankenstein, Dracula, Dorian Gray, etc...He plays a myserious American character, who we don't know why he's there, and why he sticks around while all these supernatural scary things are happening, and you have to watch to find out...

Couldn't get into it. Too much weird #### going on. I also had a feeling they they were gonna start shoehorning a new literary character in every 2 weeks.

Other than Eva green being sexy as hell, it just didn't do it for me

Had potential but not enough ideas. After the second episode, which was great, it never seemed to go anywhere. The most intriguing storyline was Frankenstein and his monster(s) and that basically got tabled. I stopped watching.

Eva Green is pretty hot though. If she was nekkid for all that possession stuff, I'd watch religiously.

Anybody go in on season 2?

a few episodes in... feels less campy, with some honestly great acting, direction and art-direction. also less all over the place plot-wise, which is good and bad. kinda miss everybody having their own story arcs.

i'm waiting for it to come to Netflix or AP. i can't bring myself to pay for Showtime.

GF and I really liked this season (recorded them and still have the last episode to watch) especially the last 2 episodes.

showtime is horrible.

we somehow got a free year for complaining constantly to Time Warner.
