Percy Harvin: Time to Sell? (1 Viewer)

If he gets traded, I hope it's to a team with a decent QB or his amazing talent will be wasted. Scary to think what he would on teams like GB, NO, NE, etc. This guy is simple one of the best players in football.
Its more likely to be the JETS than any of those teams you listed. An ideal spot might be Cinci. Harvin and Green would be a scary combo.

Weird situation. Incorrectly diagnosed injury? Or fishy situation?
He wants his money. The guy was playing at an elite level prior to getting hurt. He is going to sit out the rest of the year and demand a trade in the offseason again. He is done in Minn would be my guess.Might sound crazy, but the other option is that the Vikings medical stuff is imcompetent or Harvin is slow healer and shouldn't be given a big workload going forward. Might as well sell in Dynasty too.
The Vikings medical staff is far from incompetent. How is Adrian Peterson doing?I also think it is very unlikely that the Vikings would part with Harvin. They will francise him if needed. The asking price for Harvin is likely higher than any team would pay for him as well. But by all means keep speculating. I fully agree that Harvin may not be happy with his situation in MN and this may include Ponder being the starting QB. I still think Harvins hands are tied as far as getting out of MN goes.

Harvin has previously missed three games in three full seasons (I think two of those were migraine related, as well) Seems like the medical staff has done pretty well with him. He suffered a bad injury this time, with torn ligaments and from previous reports, strains in three separate areas.

He isn't nearly as I jury prone as people would like you to believe, and this is the first serious injury he has suffered. I'll gladly draft him next year, hopefully at a discount.

I also think the Vikes Medical staff knows what they are doing. I find it odd how a disgruntaled WR goes from a grade 3 sprain with no damage shown in an MRI to IR with ligament damage. No mention of IR for the weeks leading up to it and now the report is that Harvin doesn't need surgery. Dude isn't going to play for the Vikings next year without a new contract. Write that down.

A grade 3 sprain is a ligament tear. Typically takes 8-12 weeks to heal.

Harvin will not get traded. If there are problems between him and the coaching staff, as I expect there probably are, then the coaching staff must go.

Agreed, but NE or GB might be possible if Welker/Jennings aren't back next year although I suspect that NE will franchise Welker for one more year before letting him walk. Cincy would be great, he and Green would become the best 1-2 punch in the league IMO. I could see the NYJ making a push, but I hope he doesn't go to that offensive mess. Maybe in Pitt since Wallace is likely gone. He could also really push a team like SF over the top, but I'm not aware of all the cap situations in the league.

There's no way Harvin gets traded. Why would any fantasy owner want that, anyway? He's by far the best receiver on that team, and even when teams are focusing in on him he is lights out, especially given the fact that teams often have to stack the box against AP.

If anything, the Vikings are a dream spot for him from a fantasy perspective.

Except for the Ponder thing.

The Ponder thing shouldn't be an issue anymore.

Give me a break. So when they took the MRI the week after the sprain, they didn't know the ligament was torn? And if they did know they would have shut him down back then. Don't act like you know what's going on in Minnesota. Bottom line, Percy is getting underpaid and he wants more money...

Why? He's horrible. How can a guy be that bad with a running game that puts the entire defense in the box?

It took 2 years for doctors to identify torn ligaments in my ankle. They did an MRI and did not find it. They took pictures with my ankle in a different position later and did find it. So yes that can happen. So maybe everyone here who isn't on the Vikings medical staff should perhaps stop acting like they know what they are talking about. Write that down if you cannot remember it.This speculation that Harvin is not as badly injured as he is and that this him being put on IR is related to his contract is a complete fabrication of some peoples imagination. If Harvin were healthy enough to play again this season he would play. He isn't, they were not willing to make that decision until more recently. That is the bottom line. The contract has nothing to do with it.

Because if he still has a job then every single person in that front office needs to be shown the door. CLeaning lady too.

What are you talking about? They classified it as a grade 3 sprain so they knew he had a torn ligament. Obviously they were hoping it would heal quicker. Why is that so hard to understand.
