Cincy can get a much, much, younger RB in the draft for about 2 mil a year. Unless Bush is willing to sign for that, I can't see it happening.Bush to Cincy, Tolbert to Giants makes too much sense to happen.
What a bargain? CIA agents are probably paid more.ETA: 1 yr / $3 milMaryKayCabot Chiefs agree to terms with #browns rb Peyton Hillis, nflnetwork reports.
I see Bush as similar to Benson only he is a better receiver and doesn't fumble as much. If they can get Bush for less than they were paying Benson that seems like an improvement.Cincy can get a much, much, younger RB in the draft for about 2 mil a year. Peyton to the Chiefs!!! would have been a cool thread title.
Nah. We'll go Claiborne and try to win games 5-3.So Trent Richardson to the Browns at 4?

Opportunity cost of losing the player they could draft if they sign Bush needs to be factored in as well.Cincy can get a much, much, younger RB in the draft for about 2 mil a year. Benson played for 3 million last year. I can't see Bush signing a 1 year deal for 3 million. Bush had 4 fumbles in about 700 touches. Benson had 11 in about 1600 touches. No siginificant difference. In addition, Bush is only 1 1/2 years younger than Benson. It doesn't make any sense.I see Bush as similar to Benson only he is a better receiver and doesn't fumble as much. Charles 1,600-1,800 total yards (rushing/receiving) 4 TD'sHillis 1,100-1,300 total yards (rushing/receiving) 16 TD'sI think the Chiefs will run 60%-65% of the time in 20012. I think Hillis could score alot of TD's with the Chiefs. Charles won't score many rushing TD's if any.Benson played for 3 million last year. I can't see Bush signing a 1 year deal for 3 million. Disagree, obviously he's not in the position he was yesterday but it was unrealistic to expect KC not to sign another back and this is far from horrible.Horrible news for Charles owners.
It is a hit for sure - he will lose goal line carries and at best will be a RBBC. Not a total shock they brought in someone but Hillis is a very good fit.Horrible news for Charles owners.
How can you disagree? How many TDs did Thomas Jones "steal" from Charles in 2010? Hillis is 3x the back TJ is. Hillis can also catch really well so their playbook is wide open with him in at the goal line. Plus Charles is coming off a knee injury so you think the Chiefs are going to let him carry it at the goal line? Yes, it was clear that KC was going to bring in another back but Hillis is the best all around back they could have brought in (compared to BGE, Tolbert or Bush).'Donsmith753 said:Disagree, obviously he's not in the position he was yesterday but it was unrealistic to expect KC not to sign another back and this is far from horrible.'greggorymac said:Horrible news for Charles owners.
You realize Haley the sh**bag is gone. Also this should remove Richardson from KC boards. To be honest Hillis looked like garbage last year, he has a lot of quit in him.How can you disagree? Well, he was in 2010 anyway. 3.6 yards/carry in 2011.How can you disagree? How many TDs did Thomas Jones "steal" from Charles in 2010? Hillis is 3x the back TJ is. I can't blame him for that.I can't believe he went that cheap. After reflecting on the contracts guys like Chester Taylor and some other situation backs got it's really shocking. He must have wanted to get the F out of Cleveland.
Browns are spinning it to say they wanted him out (never made him an offer), but my guess is it's somewhere in between.I can't believe he went that cheap. I think it also points to the tepid value of FA RBs. Bush seems to have a shot at Cincy, but there's been nary a peep about Tolbert, Jacobs and even Hillis before he went off to KC.I can't believe he went that cheap. Tolbert (to me at least) is a tremendous value, I'm a little surprised he's still floating out there.I think it also points to the tepid value of FA RBs. Ah, the crisp smell of offseason optimism. I am no KC fan, but if I was I'd be all about this signing as I am a Hillis fan. I think he'll fit in well there, but it's hard to know with a new regime and all. I doubt we see 16 TDs from him, though. One of those guys might put up those numbers, but we won't see both of those guys putting up those numbers. In 2010 when they absolutely exploded (518 RB carries and 95 rec), they put up 3,365 combined (rush/rec) yards and 16 TDs from all their RBs. These two guys are not going to get 2,700-3,100 and 20 TDs by themselves.I think Multiple Scores claimed Hillis quit last year because his stats sucked, but get real. That whole offense tanked. You can't expect one guy to tear it up while the rest of the team tanks. That offense was putrid. And if you cite his injury and claim he was faking bc he is a quitter, I think there was proof that he had legitimate muscle damage. Hillis is a solid blue collar player that any team should want.'Benchwarmers said:Charles 1,600-1,800 total yards (rushing/receiving) 4 TD'sHillis 1,100-1,300 total yards (rushing/receiving) 16 TD'sI think the Chiefs will run 60%-65% of the time in 20012. I am not saying they will or won't put up those numbers but I think your logic that they won't is flawed. In 2010 the Jones/Charles combo had 2363 in rushing and 590 in receiving for a total of 2935. I can't see why the Hillis/Charles combo wouldn't be able to replicate those numbers (if Charles is 100%).If you want to argue their schedule won't allow for it or Charles injury, I can accept that. Charles probably won't be able to maintain the 6.4 YPC but I would think Hillis can certainly improve on TJ's 2010 3.7 (career is 4.2).Ah, the crisp smell of offseason optimism. I am just commenting - but the Chiefs are also interested in Tolbert and just signed Boss. They are currently meeting with Eric Winston. Now I am just saying this from a football fan standpoint - but man, Tebow would be an amazing addition to this team if he becomes available. If you add Tebow at QB with a 3 headed monster at RB like Hillis, Charles, and Tolbert, 2 good TEs, and a threat like Bowe........backside protection like Winston. The running game and defense will keep the game close, and if the game is on the line in the 4th quarter, not many id prefer than Tebow.ETA: 1 yr / $3 milMaryKayCabot Chiefs agree to terms with #browns rb Peyton Hillis, nflnetwork reports.
