Peyton Hillis misses practice Friday (1 Viewer)

Peyton Hillis (illness) is listed as questionable for Week 3 after surprisingly missing Friday's practice.Signs coming from the Browns and reporters indicate that Hillis is expected to play Sunday against the Dolphins, but the questionable tag is a bit concerning. Per NFL injury report rules, it means Hillis is "50:50" to be available for his normal level of game-day participation. We'd bet on Hillis starting against Miami, but Montario Hardesty will probably play an expanded role. The Browns want to involve Hardesty more, anyway.

Seriously? A cold rates questionable? If that's true the Browns are taking a page from Belicheck's playbook.

strep throat

The Cleveland Plain-Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot reports strep throat was the illness that held Peyton Hillis out of Browns practice Friday.According to Cabot, the Browns remain "hopeful" he'll play on Sunday. Although strep throat is not a pleasant experience, the odds that Hillis doesn't suit up against the Dolphins are just about zero. Montario Hardesty will be in for a bigger workload than usual, but Hillis should still easily lead the Browns in touches.

Hardesty gets his chance to shine. Although, I always play my guys if they have a cold/flu. For some crazy reason, it seems that they play extremely well like their bodies are focusing on football in some defense mechanism kind of way.

or like certain basketball players who play with the flu..........

if you have strep throat, all you have to do is get the antibiotic and you'll feel fine within 12-24 hours.

So, I'm hearing that Hillis has strep throat. Could be really bad news.
Yeah, it could progress to Rheumatic fever, he could go into congestive heart failure, and die. Realistically, he's probably been on antibiotics for 24+ hours now, and is feeling much better. I wouldn't expect strep throat on Friday morning to be a big deal Sunday at 1. For all we know, he started treatment Thursday.Sincerely,EPL, RN

Very possible he could play so good that Hillis is limited to a measly 23 carries a game going forward.
