This league has a live auction draft and it's ALWAYS 2 weeks before labor day so you can put it on your calendar ahead of time. Our draft is held in a private room in a bar on South Street managed by one the league owners & our league owners are scattered around Philly, the burbs, South & North Jersey who make it to the live draft each year. Yeah - we have some Iggles homers, but we also have fans of numerous other teams which makes for some good chatter.

With 14 teams, every team plays each other one time before the playoffs start in week 14, With 14 teams, the rosters can get deep, but there are always hot free agents picked up via blind bid waivers each season. As all auction fans know, the auction is never the same from year to year & there are a zillion strategies that will get you to the top.

While the available teams have some bargain players (such as d jackson, austin miles, rivers, jennings, moss etc) having bargain keepers heading into the auction is far from a requirement for success as the 25% salary increase from year to year pretty much guarantees the majority of elite players are thrown into the auction pool every year and many teams opt to enter the draft w/o keepers or only a couple well priced handcuffs or moderate players

We also use Victory points to determine the final playoff spot so the argument of pts vs wins vs ease of schedule becomes kind of moot. Competition is tight as the final 2/3 playoff spots are usually not determined until the last week of the regular season.

We're contemplating the issue of making salary cap $ trade-able, but all new owners will have a say in that decision

Annual Dues = $106 w/ the following payout structure that includes weekly high points winners pulling down $20 ea week through the FF playoffs

Prize Pool: $1404 Total Prize Pool ($1484 - $80 MFL fee)

1st place: $618

2nd place: $292

3rd place: $124

4th place: $50

Weekly High pts $20 per week ($320 total)

Payout Due: 7 days before the actual NFL Superbowl

ALL NEW OWNERS MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE LIVE AUCTION DRAFT

Post here or send me a message if you have any questions & want to join one of the cooler leagues around.

I'd be interested if you know an exact draft date. If it's the 23rd for sure, then I cannot do it. Have my brother's surprise 30th bday that night. I believe it's a Monday. What bar do you guys have the draft at?

Sorry, I didn't realize they are orphan teams. I thought I would be drafting (via auction) my own team. Good luck.

if you could make the draft you would be drafting at least 16 players of your 20 player team since every team can keep up to 4 players - 1 must be a rookie if you keep 4. last year less than half the teams kept 4 and some started the auction with no keepers. keepers aren't usually studs but guys teams think will have breakout years - chris henry, shiancoe, flacco, berrian, hillis, jordan, z miller, jerome harrison types last season. because of the 25% salary increase the vast majority of top guys are available for auction.yes - it's definitely that monday the 23rd. it's worked out well b/c it allows most people to do their other drafts, family stuff on the weekends and we don't have to go thru the rescheduling hassle every season. occassionally guys get a proxy to draft for them

This is a wonderful very competitive fun league (with a live auction in person which is rare with the era of internet leagues)

The open teams are very strong teams as the have good keepers.

Most of the studs will be available in the auction.

If you live in the philadelphia area and want a fun league made of competitive owners you should check it out.

I've been in this league since its inception and it is one of the best I have ever played it. Good group of guys who know their stuff. Small number of keepers allows for some long-term strategy but gives everyone a fighting chance at the start of the year. Last year I went in with zero keepers but had a very good auction and ended up finishing third.

I might be interested. One question, though: how did you find so may (meaning, at least one) Republicans in the City of Brotherly Love? They don't get extra cap space, right?

Lemme know if you still have room. Thanks.
