Here's a pic I took of Jay Cutler during his press conference today. Afterwords I was able to meet Jay and interview him for AM 950 The Fan.

A very poised kid that understands what he must do to be successful in the NFL. He told me that Brett Favre gave him an autographed helmet yesterday and Dan Orlovsky sent him a couple of text messages to congratulate him.

It's nice to see a kid that knows his role. He wants to dive into the playbook and get going. You have to love that enthusiasm. I am not a Broncos fan, but I have been very impressed by the Broncos aggressive nature in this draft.

I have nothing but good feelings about this match. I read Shanahan phoned Fisher before making the pick. He knew Fisher already had his QB, he knew Fisher had scouted them as thoroughly as possible. He and Fisher are close friends. Fisher told Shanahan "he honestly couldn't find any flaws in Cutler."

If Cutler has no flaws then how come he threw for just over 50% at Vandy? And please stop with the Elway comparisons just because he got drafted by Denver. He does not have anywhere near the athletic ability of Elway.

Nobody comparing him to Elway in this thread. He did speak about that comparison and he said that he wasn't even close and that he had just gotten his playbook. He urged the Broncos fans to be patient, but that he was ready to become the franchise QB for the Denver Broncos.
