Pick the 3 playoff teams THIS year (1 Viewer)

David Yudkin

Historically, there are three teams a year that will make the playoffs this year that had losing records last year. There had been a 10 year trend that stopped last year when only 2 teams acocmplished the feat (based mostly on the fact that there were quite a few teams that wound up 2006 at 8-8 so there were fewer teams to draw from).

What 3 teams (or more) will make the playoffs this year from the 15 teams on this list:

BUF, NYJ, MIA, CIN, BAL, DEN, OAK, KC, CHI, DET, NO, CAR, ATL, SF, STL

From previous seasons . . .

2007: WAS, TB

2006: PHI, NO, NYJ, BAL

2005: CHI, CAR, NYG, WAS

2004: SD, ATL, PIT, NYJ

2003: BAL, KC, DAL, STL, SEA

2002: TEN, IND, ATL, NYG

2001: NE, CHI, SF

2000: DEN, NYG, PHI, NO

1999: IND, WAS, STL, DET

1998: BUF, DAL, ARI, ATL

1997: NYJ, NYG, TB, DET

hmmm....of those, i'll take BUF, NO and CAR.

but if we're opening it up to all non-playoff teams from last year (and why not?), i'll go with MIN, NO, ARI (each of which has a good chance to win its division) and BUF as a wild card from the AFC. possibly CLE, too.

NO wins NFC South (CAR will be 2nd, but will not make wild card)

DET wins NFC North (yes I said it)

If "required" to pick 3 then I'll add

DEN gets 6-seed in AFC

There will be only two teams from the list this year NYJ and NO.

The third playoff team that didn't have a winning record will be Arizona (8-8 in 2007).

agree with above .

i say NYJ and NO .

my 3rd team would be CAR (9-7) but i dont think they will make it

New Orleans and the Jets are the 2 that stick out to me. I guess I would go with Carolina as my 3rd.

NYJ- I think this is the best Jets team since 98

NO- Nice offense and Vilm in the middle will help

Carolina- Healthy Delhomme, and a better running game this year will help a lot

No way will there be 2 teams from the AFC as NE, SD, Indy and Jax are going to be in the playoffs along with either Pitt or Cleveland as the winner of their Division.

Turnover is much more likely in the NFC.

Therefore, I'm joining the NO, Carolina and Denver club.

I think it will be no more than two this year, because there are a bunch of 8-8 teams from last year that are on the cusp of the playoffs (Philly, Minnesota, maybe Arizona and Houston).

Best odds:

60% New Orleans

50% Buffalo

40% Carolina

30% Jets

20% Denver

I love how the Jets are so overhyped just to be let down again. They won't be holding the Bills' jockstraps this year in that division, :goodposting: .

NO, CAR, BUF

I think the Jets go 12-4 this year
