I guess we have anywhere from 9 to 13 people at this point. It's really hard to tell because each time I bring this closer to commencing someone else either bails or wavers.

If you guys don't want to do it, that's cool. Just don't understand the flakiness here.

We drafted well, we competed well, we played by the rules, we paid correctly and we paid on time.

No reason to dump a good league, but it's tough to replace 7 owners in one off-season.

I agree, which is why I'm surprised to see so many bailing.  The appeal to this league to me was more teams as I lost that level of a league a few years ago and had been looking to replace it.  This fit.  Without it that appeal is gone though.

 
are there still openings here?

I have brick and mortar people dying for a leeg and can always refer them here if need be.  if so, maybe I swap my cake spot with someone already in pie.

can you get a definitive IN count.  like I said, I have guys looking for a leeg and this may fit the bill.  just also bring forward some rules crap and buy in amount for EZ reference.

We need to get chemx's family all buckled in for the ride, and we may not have that done by Monday.

Let's keep rolling for draft order and tidying up everything else on any rule tweaks. 

If his guys comes through, we'll get to 14 and we'll get things started next week. It just might not be Monday.

Sounds good. We can wait until all the spots are settled, but Id prefer to be in the middle rather than at either end.

Im pretty ambivalent on IP limit, so whatever is good by me. I am interested in transactions though, what are our options there? 

 
Daily waivers was another rule change proposal offer up earlier in the thread. What's everyone's take on that?

There are definitely some flaws in a complete free for all, but I also don't want to limit the amount of transactions.

 
My strategy last year definitely catered to the lower IP limit and free-for-all free agency method, but I think an increase to the IP limit and daily waivers would be best for the league.  If it becomes a choice of free-for-all or waivers once/twice per week then I think we should stick with the free-for-all but if yahoo can do them daily then I think that's a good thing.  The one thing I'd be sure of is if you acquire a player he is available for use the same day.  IIRC there's a day lag in their generic setup, so that would need customized.  Maybe a little thing, but acquiring a player then needing to wait another day to use him is increasingly annoying over the course of the season.  It's tolerable in the free-for-all method because it's only trades and waivers; not free agents too.

Any idea on how to go about tweaking this?

 
I found it. Simple change in the settings.

I also noticed that there is no option for setting a minimum IP, but I think it's probably a good idea that we set a floor this season. I propose at least 500. With 9 slots, that's a little over 50 IP per roster spot, meaning that guys have to at least field 9 relievers.

I've gone ahead and made the following changes to the league format:

  • Rolling daily waivers
  • Same day availability for adds (Last year it was delayed a day)
  • 1400 innings limit (1300 was the limit last year)
  • 500 inning minimum (will be manually applied since Yahoo doesn't allow minimums. Penalty will be a "1" in all 5 pitching categories for the season)
Anything else we need to clean up before we get started next week?
