Pittsburgh Defense (1 Viewer)

A top fantasy defense last year and this year they have been pedestrian. Have the tides changed on this defense or are their current totals (sack, ints, ff) just an aberration?

Also very disappointed so far. They had the shut out 2 weeks ago but this defense suddenly looks average. I hope it is just an aberration too. Thinking about putting Tampa Bay out there this week.

They also scored a TD last week. What they aren't getting is pressure on theQB. Still, this defense will be an above average fantasy team with Troy P. in the lineup. When he gets hurt, then that's when I will pull the plug on this unit.

Good point

keep an eye out. As LeBeau finally caves in and allows Cam Heyward and ESPECIALLY Ziggy Hood to get more playing time instead of Keisel and Aaron Smith, that defense will begin to generate more pressure. One of the problems is that as LeBeau ages and closes in on senility, he becomes more and more risk averse and he is blitzing Harrison and Woodley less and less. Harrison has dropped back on nearly 45% of the passing downs rather than rushing the QB because Keisel and ESPECIALLY Aaron Smith really are living up to what Warren Sapp said about 'old slow and done'

Smith has had simply too many injuries and no longer can even hold the point 1v1. Until LeBeau gets his head out of his ### and gets Heyward and Ziggy Hood more snaps, there will be a fairly problematic lack of pressure and lack of running.

Also, sleepr IDP here - Cortez Allen. He's Ras-I Dowling without the injury problem. He will be McFadden's replacement no later than next season, possibly as early as this season.

if Farrior and Foote go down, snatch up Stevenson Sylvester as well.

Letting Addai rush for 80+ yards week 3 (behind a crap run-blocking o-line) was an eye-opener for me. Foster & the Texans o-line is gonna abuse them this week.

The days of drafting and starting one defense all year is over.

Play the matchups baby.........defense by committee.

i just saw this thread, after i posted mine.

i'm a little worried about pitt....manhandling seattle at home doesn't hold much weight...but getting blown out vs. baltimore, and indy had the chance to beat them w/o scoring a offensive TD....this looks like a really bad spot for pitt this week..

if baltimore can carve them up, houston should be able to as well.

As a diehard Steeler fan for many years, Have to agree on the first part of this post.LeBeau, the master that he has been for so many years, seems to be bringing less pressure these days, just like last year during the playoffs and SB. While he might be easing off his blitzing and bringing relentless pressure that he is known for, I'm sure there will be adjustments made just like he has always done...not sure if that translates into fantasy points though...
