Pittsburgh Pirates tied for 1st place in NL Central (1 Viewer)

Well they tried their best to give the game away but the Pirates came out with the win.

Still tied for first!!!!

Taking pitches?

Getting ahead in the count?

Starting Doumit over Paulino?

Sanchez batting 2nd, Wilson batting 8th?

I actually liked what I saw out of the offense last night. It's only one game, but the new staff has been preaching more patience and it was strange watching the Pirates' hitters consistently getting ahead of the pitchers.

Damn. What a freaking bullpen. 5 in the 9th one day to tie it up. 7 in the 8th two nights later to blow open a tie game (and cost me a save).

Team has no chance if the bullpen doesn't do a better job.

Yea they shipped off Torres to Milwaukee for some pitching prospects.Which is fine with me because Torres was getting older anyway, plus we got Yates for Redmond (i believe), who is younger than Torres and throws in the high 90s

The Pirates bullpen this year is going to be atrocious with or without Torres. It looks like they actually have a pretty solid lineup for a change. Too bad Laroche is going 0 for April for the second straight year.

Rivas error, Rivas error, Rivas error, Rivas error. Is there an echo in here? I never thought I'd say this but the Pirates really really need Jack Wilson badly.

Over/under on Laroche hits in April: 12
Our starting #3 & #4 batters:5/40 0 HRs 0 RBIs :goodposting:
Ok the Buccos have had a lot of busts during their 15 season losing streak but is any bigger than Laroche? This guy is an absolute bum. He doesn't even belong in the pathetic lineup anymore. There is really just nothing good about this guy.
he couldnt beat julio lugo out for a spotwas surprised the pirates wanted him

He was pretty good in the second hlaf last year and he is hurt right now. I am not willing to give up on him right now.

Aren't the Pirates usually eliminated by the start of the 2nd half? What good does it do the team for the guy to only show up during the 2nd half? They need him when there's actually pressure to win games---right now. If he's hurt and this much of a hindrance, he shouldn't be in the lineup. On another note, after the last 2 losses to the Cubs and the Pirates consistent attitude of thinking in terms of "moral victories", I'm more disgusted as a Pirates fan than I've ever been in my life. Two straight extra innings games at home and they can't pull out even one of them?
