Play-off Kickers to own (1 Viewer)

I have been more than pleased with Tynes, and forced myself to make some tough roster decisions this week to keep him on my team.

That being said, I do like both Barth and Seabass.

I guess it all depends on the league, but I can't imagine making tough roster decisions to keep a kicker through his bye week.

Would you drop Tynes? He is averaging nearly 12 points per game. He has 116 fantasy points on the season...exactly 3 points less than my #1 wr, Julio Jones.

Kickers points arelike hidden sugars in beer. They matter...A LOT, but get overlooked greatly.

Personally, I would try my best to avoid cutting Tynes. After all, if you have leagues where, in the playoffs, you see guys anguishing over this guy and that guy when the likely difference is 2-4 points, then why wouldn't you keep a kicker that is giving you a ~3 point advantage most weeks over the competition.

I was knocked out of the playoffs and the money last year because my opponent swapped kickers before the game.... so do not overlook! I've been reading kickermania all year because of that loss last year... with all projections its not always perfect but it's been pretty good to me. I've swapped kickers a few times this season already and even rostered 2 for a while... and in other leagues snagged some kickers that my opponents dropped during their bye weeks.

With all the close games my leagues often have, an extra 3-5 points can certainly make a difference!

(I lost by 3 points... his original kicker scored 4, his newly picked up one scored 8).

I would drop him, unless I had a free roster spot and felt there was no one else in free agency that had even remote value. I certainly would not make tough roster decisions to keep him. A hot kicker is nice to have, but roster spots are valuable and I am confident that I can find a good kicker with a great match up in free agency if I do not have a hot kicker.

Shouldn't it be "and don't call me God"?

I don't get all the Tynes love. Gostkowski has been money pretty much every week.
Odd statement. What don't you get? He's the #1 kicker in FF, totaling 116 points (avg 11.6)-this compared to Gostkowski (#2 kicker) @ 103 points. Both are great to have on your team. Frankly, Tynes has flat out won me a few games. When your 'afterthought' kicker puts up the same points as Willis McGahee, Alfred Morris, Mike Wallace and Torrey Smith, you hang onto him. The most important part though is that through 10 weeks he has outscored my opponent's kicker in all but one week. Most of time by more than 5 points. Having that kind of dominance at a position is huge.

Check back after the bye week. There are three kicker that could catch him or pass him this week.Just checked for ROS ranking and Dodds has Tynes as PK3, Herman as PK10.

Isn't that reason enough to hang onto him?

Tynes has been money as well. Also, Gostkowski was drafted before I usually go for kickers where Tynes could probably be grabbed in the last round of the draft or as a free agent afterwards.

Carrying two kickers and two D for the playoffs. Graham/Hanson, Den/NYJ. More valuable than end of bench crap at this point, now that byes are over

:goodposting: When it comes down to the best teams in the league playing for a championship, good K and DST scoring can be the difference between winning and losing.

Justin Tucker seems like money to me for the playoff schedule, although Herman doesn't have him ranked high. The Ravens offense can put up some points, but faces some decent defenses that should lead to ample FG tries after red zone drives stall out. He's currently the #5 PK but still be on the waiver wire in some leagues.

The Saints will be playing Oakland of course and the Raiders are giving up the 2nd most FFPA to kickers. Hartley's probably on the WW.

Just an idea for this week.

Dropped tynes in all my leagues that I had him this week. Pointless to keep an extra kicker. Kicker production is completely random, plus the giants o is struggling.

Brees finishes drives ... Hartley has only attempted eleven fg's this year, 30th in the league ... as opposed to Tynes, who has attempted damn near triple that amount (thirty one).Hartley is averaging barely six ppg, and has only cracked double digits once. Extra Points? Yep, he'll get 'em ... but he is one of the least used fg booters out there.

I've been rolling with Hanson because Detriot was struggling in the redzone, but now they are starting to pick it up. I picked up Akers when someone dropped him,but I need to study this some more.

The key is finding an offense that moves the ball but stalls in the redzone. I also like to have my kickers playing in warm weather or domes to take the elements out.

Dan Bailey may be a good add. They play on the road @cin in week 14, but have Pit and N.O. at home week 15 and 16. Cowboys always seem to put up stats but not TDs.

Connor Barth has singlehandedly won games for me. I've added and dropped him several times, but in a good matchup, get him in your lineup.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Matt Bryant. Very consistent on a team that can't run the ball but will move it up and down the field. Plays in a dome. Been great for me so far.

Defintely.Drafted Byrant as the 5th kicker taken (after Akers, Crosby, Gostkowski, Hartley) and I've started him every week. During his week 7 bye, I dropped Bryant, picked up Dawson who got me a fantastic 1 point, and thankfully was able to pick up Bryant the following week.Anyway there is nothing like being able to plug in a good kicker on a good offense that plays in good weather every week. Every single week the #1 kicker is a free agent, good luck trying to figure out who it'll be.

Boom or bust games for this dude. I'd rather my kicker be a little more consistent. I like Tucker alot, he's only 4 pts behind Gostkpwski in my league. Ravens move the ball enough and stall out enough times to make this guy playoff worthy going forward.
