Playboy is officially out of the naked women business (1 Viewer)

Raider Nation

Devil's Advocate
RIP. This magazine was a blessing to many teenage boys.

FYI, I've already said "Thanks for the mammaries" on Twitter, so you can't use it.

Last month, Cory Jones, a top editor at Playboy, went to see its founder Hugh Hefner at the Playboy Mansion. Mr. Jones nervously presented a radical suggestion: the magazine, a leader of the revolution that helped take sex in America from furtive to ubiquitous, should stop publishing images of naked women.

Mr. Hefner, now 89, but still listed as editor in chief, agreed. As part of a redesign that will be unveiled next March, the print edition of Playboy will still feature women in provocative poses. But they will no longer be fully nude.

Surprised they lasted this long. Magazines need to go the way of the catalog and the video store..

That being said...Playboy was o e of the greats with or without the nudes.

I can't even remember the last Playboy I've seen. The last one I bought had to be in the mid-90s.

It would take some serious thought to narrow down my favorite Playmate ever. Probably between Marianne Gravatte, Lisa Dergan, Jennifer Walcott and Jaime Faith Edmondson (former Dolphins cheerleader; now Evan Longoria's wife). And Pamela Anderson was unbelievably naturally gorgeous as a Playmate before turning into a trash bag.

I always liked Charlotte kemp because Gary Fencik railed her for a while

Seems appropriate. That magazine and lifestyle will always be about Hugh Hefner, and it seems proper to wind it down as he winds his life down.

Just glad (and my penis thanks him), that I was around to live through the glory days.

Dang, I'm going to miss all the great articles.
Well now you can really mean it when you say you read it for the articles.
My high school English teacher stated that Playboy was indeed a top literary magazine, but there was no respectable way to show it.
He was right...Updike, Fleming, Heller, Bradbury, Bellow, Nabokov, Oates, Cheever, Shaw, Sexton, Irving, Lecarre....

To be honest Playboy lost it's way years ago when they started putting women with fake breasts in the magazine. The whole idea behind Playboy was to have the girl next door types in there who were both beautiful and had incredible assets. Once the online porn age hit, Playboy shifted a bit and started going a more slutty than classy with it's pictorials. It got to the point where the women in Playboy looked like any other porno star skank you could see anywhere else. If anyone remembers the magazine from the 60's and 70's you had some women in there who were truly spectacular. Google Cynthia Meyers, Fran Gerard to name a few.

Hell yeah. I grew up with natural boobs and kempt bush.

Do they still do that page three topless in English Newspapers? I wonder how Rosie Jones is these days.

All-time great bush.

Lol...

Figured you for a Patricia Farrenlli fan

I'll never forget hanging out with a group of friends when I was a teenager and someone showed up with a playboy he swiped from his old man's drawer. We couldn't flip to the nude pictures fast enough. Someone asked why it was called Playboy and a friend answered it was like someone saying "play boy, play", as in have a good time son, enjoy the nude ladies. We all bought that answer no questions asked.

Darn. Enjoyed the original Jenny McCarthy, ahem, spread and the two gals from Survivor (including the blonde who's now Cole Hamels' wife). Didn't see these forest dwellers from the 70s.

Who can ever forget Shelly Jamison, the newscaster who bared all. She was pregnant or had recently given birth. Unbelievable natural talent. Google those things.

The magazine actually published good

short stories.
Thanks, WW Norton
Sorry I grew up with the Internet and didn't find finding boobs to be impressive or difficult. Playboy was good for the short stories. If I wanted to see naked women doing dirty stuff there were roughly 1.7 million better options. But yes "good ol days" and all that.

I take this to mean the centerfolds will still be nude for Playboy's online subscribers?
