Players on IR (1 Viewer)

I'm in a keeper league in which we can keep 5 players. We have to have our keepers in by mid August.

I'm scanning the IR list for players that might have been cut in our league and might come back strong in 2018.

So far, I have picked up Spencer Ware for next year and I already had Dalvin Cook on my roster.

Any ideas for others that might be worth looking into?

Spencer Ware????  He's droppable. We can throw out names but what a waste of time, tell us who is on waivers in your league.

I wouldn't waste a spot on Ware.  He will be at best a time share back but most likely he will take West's spot as the 3rd down back and hurry up offense guy.  Not worth being one of 5 freezes on a team.

Agreed, Ware is worthless.

I assume Allen Robinson is being hung onto, otherwise he's a solid option. Maybe D'onta Foreman as well. The Chrises Thompson and Carson.

Agreed with those who are saying to dump Ware. Hunt would still be leading that backfield by now even if Ware hadn't gotten hurt.

RB: I'm a sucker for "talent over health history" (a.k.a. the Fred Taylor argument) so I think C.J. Prosise and Kenneth Dixon are two worthwhile options. They'll probably never stay healthy, but they have the talent to be RB1s on the off chance it happens. Chris Thompson is another solid choice in PPR formats, I wouldn't bother with him in standard.

WR: Cameron Meredith and Quincy Enunwa might be there for the taking. Each only 25 and looked good putting up very respectable numbers with God-awful QB play. Both could be fantasy WR2s in the right system IMO.

TE: Erik Swoope is a name to monitor. Good size/speed combo, averaged 20YPC in 2016, should have Luck back under center next season.

In a freeze only 5 players format I don't think any of these guys are must haves in terms of keepers.  When the number of keepers goes down players like these really lose their value quickly.  I would think there would be guys already on your roster that aren't coming off injury that were good performers to take up those 5 spots quickly.

If we knew the roster it would be easier to see if these type players are relevant.

Yeah, that's a good point. I don't know how I missed the OP saying it was only keep-5 - figured that if he was going dumpster-diving on IR that it must be a larger # than that.

I still think Thompson's worth it as a keep-5 in PPR formats, but that's about it.
