Playing against A.Rodgers-should I start Adams and Jordy? (1 Viewer)

So I just realized my opponent has Aaron Rodgers while I have the top 2 fantasy WRs for the Packers. I was leaning towards starting Mike Wallace over Adams but now I'm thinking I should start both GB receivers (obviously starting Jordy no matter what) in order to minimize whatever damage Rodgers does-as he will likely be throwing the majority of his passes to these two. Is this sound logic? Adams doesn't go off unless Rodgers does (same for Jordy) so I'm basically hoping for a wash between the 2v1

Play the players you believe will score the most points.  Your opponents lineup shouldn't be considered in most cases.  If you think Wallace will score more than Adams then play Wallace.  After all it is about who scores the most points.

In an isolated event: yes I agree with your sentiment of "play whoever you believe will score more" but if we dive into some simple mathematics it can be shown that in this case it might not be that simple.

If Rodgers were to go off and have a huge game (say 250+ 3+ TDs) then logic would allow that a decent amount of that would go to Jordy and/or Adams. Say they garner 60% (150/2) of his point total-not a far reach at all as they have been clear 1 & 2 recieving  options on that team for the past month-that would give them 28 points total before receptions (0.5 ppr in my league) while Rodgers would be at 22.

If Rodgers has a bad game tho-both of my receivers will likely have lower outputs as well but would still likely outscore rodgers by himself. If I were to play Wallace over Adams and Rodgers has a bad game, then yes, I could concievably pick up a few points but that seems unlikely.

I was just curious what other more analytical fantasy players might think of this strategy? I know it's a little different than normal so I figured I would ask

If you are doing it solely for the purpose of QB negation you might want to rethink.  If they are the best point opportunities then you roll with them.  It's not like they are reaches by any means.  Now if you were throwing in 3rd and 4th string wrs that would be another story.
