Playing in multiple leagues (1 Viewer)

Obviously if you have one guy rated higher you always play the higher rated guy. But what if it is truly a coin flip, and you are playing against one of the choices in another league? Do you play him so you can be happy either way? Or do you sit him so you can root against him and hope he doesn't torch you while languishing on your bench? Just curious what other folks do in this situation as I am torn between Warner and Bulger and face Warner in my other league (and he has a great matchup, but I'm afraid/hoping he gets hurt... again). Not WDIS (that's over in the AC), just wondering generally...

Nope. every league is a different entity. So I'll start the best guy regardless of whether I face him or not. Be worse if he has a huge game, beats me in league A and then I had him on League B and lost because I sat him....

I really try to keep the number of leagies I play in to a minumum. (2 dynasty 2 redraft). In a true coin flip situation I absolutely make decisions based on who my opponent in another league has.

A couple weeks ago I was trying to decide which 2 to start - FWP, K. Jones, Portis. FBG had them ranked back to back to back in the weekly cheatsheet. I decided to sit Portis because I was playing against him in another league. This way I could cheer for FWP & Jones with a clear conscience and root for Portis to have a down week.

I certainly won't make decisions which will hurt my ability to win in one league based on who my opponent in another league has but I will make close decesions based on how it will effect my day infront of the TV.

thats part of the fun of FF, I play a huge number of leagues every year and I treat them as completely separate entities, lol. I just start the player I think will have the best performance, I don't let a matchup against another of my guys in another league stop me from playing a guy I like, no.

I no longer really root for any one team (former Raider fan from childhood in the 60's and STILL pissed that they abandoned the faithful for SO CAL), I just root for players to have a good statline (IDP also).

Obviously, that's why I said if it was a coin flip.

I see the point has been lost.I'm not talking about when you have one guy rated higher than the other. WHAT IF IT IS TRULY A TOSS UP BETWEEN TWO GUYS?

Ok, since you don't want my full answer I'll edit it to read 'nope'.I'm not sure what you're looking for if my answer doesn't suit you. I never bench a guy so I can root against him. Even if it's close. Start your best players. It doesn't mean a darn thing if you're playing them in another league.Listen, if you really think Warner (to you use your example) is/could get hurt then don't start him. How confident are you in Bulger? He faces a good matchup against a crappy 49 team, has a stud RB who is playing well and good WRs. He's healthy. That he or Warner is or isn't playing against me is irrelevent. Honestly I don't feel it's that much of a coin flip if you're worried Warner will go down.

No, doesn't affect it at all.

But it is the reason I'm reducing leagues from 4 to 2 next year. I'm really tired of hoping a player does well, but not TOO well. That'll still happen some with 2, but it's every freakin' week with 4. I don't know how people stay sane with 5, 10 or more leagues.

Easy...you put in your best lineups, then just enjoy football for football's sake, TEMPORARILY FORGETTING ABOUT YOUR FANTASY TEAMS. You can catch up on your teams later, either before the Sunday night game, or the Monday night game. By then, most of your who-to-rout-for dilemas have solved themselves. In the meantime, you can usually enjoy routing for your favorite/hometown NFL team without the distraction of fantasy.Amazingly...I find I enjoy football more by playing so many fantasy leagues that there's no hope of keeping track of them and I can just simply rout for MY REAL TEAM.

You think of each team totally independent of one another, and you field the best team, as if it was your only one. If two guys are truly equal in your mind, do whatever you'd be least pissed at yourself for, if you make the wrong choice. In your head justify who you're starting and why, so if you make the wrong choice, its over, beating yourself up after the fact does and means nothing. Set your lineup, watch the games, and if you made the wrong move, it happens to EVERYONE who plays FF, not just you.
