Point per reception (1 Viewer)

If yes, does the scoring vary by position? +2 for TE, +1 for RB, etc...

I'd like to hear if anyone uses a half point per reception league too? We're trying that this year and awarding .5 per reception to RB, WR, TE.The 1 point seems like a huge jump to make from standard non reception points scoring, so we went with the middle of the road.I think it's a good mix between getting the value of RB and WR's just about right. Anyone else us the .5?
:hey: .5 here.

Same in my league as well, but we're considering going to a staggered system this season, such as:0.5 PPR for RB0.75 - 1.0 PPR for WR1.0 - 1.5 PPR for TEWe're debating this right now and are going to vote on it before the draft. I like the staggered idea because if PPR is the same for everyone it devalues the vast majority of TEs while turning RBs like LT2, LJ, and Westy into beasts.

I'm in 3 leagues, all of which use 0.5pt/reception. In 2 of the leagues we use to award 3 points at 5 receptions, but we gradually modified that over the years to 1 point for every 2 receptions. In 2 of the 3 leagues we also award points based upon performance as follows:RB: 1pt/20 yards total offense (rushing, receiving and passing), 6 pt td's, 1pt/2 rec, 1pt/5 carriesWR: 1pt/15 yards total offense, 6 pt td's, 1pt/2 rec, 1pt/5 carriesTE: 1pt/10 yards total offense, 6 pt td's, 1pt/2 rec, 1pt/5 carriesQB: 1pt/50 yards total offense, 4 pt passing td's, 6 pts other td's, 1pt/5 completions, 1pt/5 carriesthe above system works well in conjunction with our starting lineup requirements (1qb/1rb/2wr/1te/1k/flex 1 (qb/rb/wr/te)/flex 2 (rb/wr/te)). This allows for a lot of different combinations for starting lineups in order to de-emphasize runningbacks.

I think it's the only way to go, especially in larger leagues (12+).

What it does is increase the number of "stud" players available. I find that without PPR, the value of guys like LJ, LT, and Shaun Alexander (and maybe even Portis this year) are skewed in importance, giving a guy that drafts them an unfair advantage.

When you throw in PPR, now you have guys like Tiki in the same class and guys like LaMont Jordan (last year) and Michael Westbrook approaching the class. Also, now the guys that are in position to draft the top WRs have just as studly a player on their roster as the guy at the top of the draft.
:P I think Michael never had a chance to approach these guys... PPR or notWe know - Brian...

Submitted my PPR article to Dodds and Gray today. Lots of statistical analysis with regard to +1 PPR leagues compared to standard leagues.

Thanks for the input. Shocked to see so many leagues using PPR. Way more than I thought. I dig it.

My commish absolutely refuses to listen to any arguements regarding PPR. I just joined last year, and I think the league used to be basically a TD league. Last year they moved to a basic performance league...pretty standard scoring. He can't see the point of using PPR. He thinks it's overkill. Last year we had an auction league. This year we are doing both and auction and a snake draft. For the snake draft he told us we wouldn't be getting our draft spots until the day of the draft. His reason was to avoid people trading picks! :wall:
How do you have both an auction and a snake draft?
We're having two drafts on the same day.

We use 0.5 per reception for all positions...
