Portis begins rehab (1 Viewer)

Starting rehab 4 days after the injury is very quick.
NO it is no quick to start rehab 4 days after the injury, heck I had reconstructive rotary cuff shoulder surgery and the very next morning I started rehab. And seriously, rehab right now could consist of him just getting a range of motion. It's not like he is in there powerlifting. He may not yet be extending his arm completely and freely over his head.
WHAT? That is NUTS. I had a full rotator tear (completely unrelated to Portis' injury, btw) and I went a FULL 2 weeks before doing anything at all. I had to sleep sitting up for the first week to 10 days, and was on serious pain killer meds. Even during the second week, I couldn't even get my other hand into the armpit to shower. I was told I'd be out of work for 6 months, but went back in 3, after busting my nut in rehab. Frankly.... I just don't believe you... I think you must have had a less major surgery. I could do ZERO after my surgery, and I mean ZERO. Couldn't even lay down, on my side ot otherewise. Slept in a recliner, in the upright position. I had a knee done, a thumb rewired, sinus surgery... nothing even came close to the pain and recovery of that shoulder surgery... not anywhere close to it.PS: When they cut the tendon, and scrape the humerous, and use anchors imbedded into the humerous bone, that new connection of ligamnet to bone has to be rested for a period of time, or risk ripping the anchors out. Not buying your story.
I'm going in to get an MRI on my shoulder Monday morning for a torn rotator cuff. Thanks for making me feel even better about it. :hot:

If it's a partial tear, it is much less serious. If it's a FULL tear, yer screwed. Same surgeon, and at two months into rehab I met a guy who had a partial, He was two weeks post op, and was doing the same stuff I was at two months post op. It is MUCH better to get it repaired before it becomes a full tear.... they cut the tendon, stretch it back over to the humerous bone, scrape the bone (after removing the remnants of the old tendon attachment) , and sink staples and anchors thru it to reattach it to the part of the humerous that was scraped. The scraping generates scar tissue, which will form the new attachment of the ligament to the bone. My Arm wasn't just in a sling, the sling was securely held against my chest with additional strappings, holding my entire shoulder and arm in place, wrapped around my chest. Darn near being in a straight jacket for two weeks. With a partial tear, they can take some tendon from elsewhere, and reinforce the torn ligament.... no anchors in the bone. That is the big difference.... a new tendon to bone attachment or not. There can be other complications tho.... if the AC joint is restricted, the may have to shave some of the bone from the AC joint. No experience with that, but it doesn't sound so good. This rehab on day two with a reconstruction.... well, that's just silly, and very bad info.

Would you trade Lamont Jordan (has not impressed in preseason) for Clinton Portis (how will he return?)?

What kind of league? Dynasty? Redraft? What's the scoring like. I probably wouldn't do the trade in a redraft, but even that's debateable. I would definitely do it in a dynasty league.

No I think CP will be fine when the season starts. I still think for sure he will out perform Lamont Jordan, even if he only plays 14 games. Lamont's offense is horrible. They can't pass protect or run block now. I know it is only preseason, but you have to show your vanilla offense can beat your oppenents vanilla defense. Right now Oakland is showing nothing.
