Portis (1 Viewer)

Portis a a talented back, but you worry about a RBBC situation. Gibbs has a history of using RBBC , and this year should be no different, and that will greatly limit Portis' chances at being a 300+ carry RB..I'd look for something like 240 carries, 1080 yards, 4.5 avg.

Betts could have similar numbers.

Both Ron Brown and Rudi Johnson will see over 300 carries each. Rudi is a rock that always provides the same stat lines, year in and year out. Brown , while nothing fancy, has avg'd 4.3 per carry thus far in his career. Good numbers considering the no talnet bums that Miami has paraded onto the field as 'QB's`. Trent Green might not have much left in the tank, but he's exponentially better than Joey Harrington and Duante Culpepper were with the Dolphins. The new coaching staff plans to use Brown a lot, much more than in previous seasons. His reception totals could/should double, to the tune of 65-70 catches this season, simply because Miami has a weak line and no WR's who can stretch the field and keep defenses honest ( Chris Chambers is staring at possibly being suspended, and, he's not overly impressive as a WR, anyways). That leaves Brown catching passes on screens and dump-offs. Think Lamont Jordan 2005, with slightly more rushing numbers, perhaps 1300 rushing yards to go with the increased receptions.

would you keep this guy say over R.Brown or Rudi
definitely. He's the most talented of the 3 and has the best line of them all. Betts is a backup, does nothing better than Portis except fumble and only got time last year because Portis was hurt. Portis is much more talented and will get the lionshare of the carries. Betts shared time with Portis last year and he was top 10, why wouldn't Portis be top 10 this year?

Portis has a far better chance of being a top 10 RB than either of these guys and ........................ Michael Bennett too even if LJ got hit by a :11: or is in a :blackdot:
