Scherzer is expected to be replaced by Doug Davis in the rotation once he's able to return from thryoid cancer after his next rehab start, the Arizona Republic reports.That won't happen until at least next week, while the D-Backs haven't determined a plan of action for Scherzer at this time. He may be sent back to Triple-A to remain in the rotation and stay stretched out in case Davis struggles or one of the other starters goes down with an injury.
I pray they keep him up as he has great stuff and has helped me already.

He's dominated in the minors, I'm not sure what else he can gain by going back down. Being moved to the pen makes the most sense, to me anyway.

He's on an inning limit, I think it's 150 but I could be wrong. Think, Lince K last year.

I'd love to see that, but I think they're going to send him down where there's less pressure and they can keep him at a very strict pitch count.He'd do great in a Joba role, and would probably slide right into being a dominant closer if that's what they had in mind for him.
