Mock Draft

Mock Draft
'Boston said:Very confused about the Patriot selections...their defense is their achilles heel and has been for quite some time now...I don't think anyone can deny that...combine that with what they have already done in free agency and I just don't get using 3 of their first five picks (including both first-rounders) on offense...it's just not smart...unless they make some more defensive additions in free agency everything points to a defensive draft for them (although I do know it's the kiss of death to predict anything they do)...
It is really hard to figure the Pats out because they never do what is expected to be done(See last year). I think the defense is a need, but the interior offensive line really needs an overhaul. I think Kendell Wright would be a great addition in the 1st round giving them a young replacement to Branch and make the offense even more dangerous. And as for RB's i could see up to 7 going in the first two rounds and Miller,Martin,Wilson all have 1st round grades along with Richardson, but could fall to the early to mid 2nd round. 3 drafts ago Dexter McCluster went 2.4 and L.James is 5x the prospect that he is and on top of that Chris Polk and Robert Turbin are rising fast.'fruity pebbles said:Cant see any way 4 rbs go in the 1st round, even the first two rounds
The Pats just re-signed Connolley to starters money so he's your C for the forseeable future, Mankins isn't going anywhere soon and the word is Waters is coming back...they have also signed Gallery and the word locally is they are pleased with Donald...I have zero issue taking O-line no matter how much depth you have but they don't need an overhaul and don't need to be taking two with their first four picks especially when they have one of the best O line coaches in the business who has proved he can develop guys out-of-nowhere...as for WR if you look at their offseason they have added Lloyd, Stallworth and Gonzalez while also re-signing Branch...my guess is they are looking for guys who understand their system and can hit the ground unning in 2012...they could use a young WR but with their defensive holes I would be absolutely BS if they used a #1 on one...this team is not going to win another title until the D gets better and with two #1's and two #2's I am absolutely begging them to use at least three of those picks on that side of the ball...especially in the front seven...'Boston said:Very confused about the Patriot selections...their defense is their achilles heel and has been for quite some time now...I don't think anyone can deny that...combine that with what they have already done in free agency and I just don't get using 3 of their first five picks (including both first-rounders) on offense...it's just not smart...unless they make some more defensive additions in free agency everything points to a defensive draft for them (although I do know it's the kiss of death to predict anything they do)...It is really hard to figure the Pats out because they never do what is expected to be done(See last year). I'm down with that. Good job.3. Vikings - OT - M.Kalil – USC35. Vikings - WR - R.Randle – LSU67. Vikings - CB - J.Flemming - Oklahoma

Cleveland moving down 4 spots was for a franchise QB and there is a big difference in value (Plus they over-paid). As for the Pats yes they did resign Connley at Center and Mankins is coming off a torn ACL injury. I really think the Pats will trade one of the first rounders i just couldn't find something that made sense. Picks were mixed up is all. With what the Browns had on the table for RG3 to move up 2 spots, I doubt they move down 2 spots so easily with the same team that slammed the door on them. Also picks 56 and 65 are for the same player. But kudos for the effort. These are not easy to do.
You are right. Cleveland is not trading down for Tannehill, they are taking him at 4. Holmgren might have burnt some bridges with St. Louis when he accused them of having a back room deal with Washington. I think he let the cat out of the bag when he said how much he was willing to pay for RGIII. I think Cleveland is committed not to have Colt McCoy as their starter next year.4. Rams - RB - M.Claiborne - LSU (Trade) 2012 3rd+ 6th + 2013 3rd6. Browns - QB - R.Tannehill - TAMUCleveland already has 9 picks in this draft. It is doubtful they can absorb 9 rookies let alone 11 as you project with this deal. They don't want two additional mid and late round picks in this draft because they can't add 11 rookies meaning they will have to cut two or three in camp who otherwise would have had a chance. Last year all of the Browns picks made the team and contributed. Many draftniks are dying to project Tannenhill to the Browns to make their mocks work out but they have absolutely no clue. If the Browns trade down with St. Louis the reason would be to acquire a high pick in NEXT YEAR'S draft to get ammo to make a move for Barkley who is the guy they really wanted all along. They won't move down and miss out on a blue-chip player in this draft especially for what you have in your mock.Tannenhill isn't worth a top-five pick, he isn't. Their are blue-chip players in the top five picks so any team trading down would be hit with an opportunity cost of missing a blue chip player. Teams understand that it costs a lot to move-up to get a blue-chip player because they are rare and worth it. It costs a lot more than three mid and late round picks which are not worth one blue chip player. No team would make that deal, especially a team like Cleveland that has one of the best GMs in the game in Tom Heckertt. The only team with a top-ten pick who would be interested in him is Miami since Sherman coached Tannenhill in college and Miami is in need of a QB. They might think he's worth it.I would not be suprised if the Rams do make a deal, possibly two in this draft to get guys that could fill needs on their team. St. Louis is in dire need of an OT and they have plenty of picks to make a deal to move-up from the second round if someone falls to the late first round. I can easily see a team moving down with St. Louis late in the first round if a guy like Riely or Martin fall into the twenties. I could definitely see the Browns moving down with the Rams if a guy like Reily was there and the Rams offered one of the two first-round picks they have next year. DIffcult to project trades but the Rams are in dire need and they have plenty of picks to make deals. They can get healthy very quickly in this draft and it is because they don't have to sit and wait for players to fall to them. They can be aggressive and make deals and they will still have plenty of extras from the Washington deal to tide them over in the future.
