Our Alabama Rescue, Duncan (by way of the Bideawee shelter, NYC last February) at 12 months. 60lbs of "Lab mix" he is my first dawg.

Found out today we're going to be fostering, with the opportunity to adopt, a 10 month old male rescue Golden Retriever from Turkey (apparently they're status symbols there as puppies but not adults and there are thousands on the street),

Any thoughts on adding a second dog to the family? We've had our 7 year old female since she was a puppy. We've been looking for a companion, different age and ideally make so this fits. My wife has always had two dogs, I've only ever had one at a time.

brought my pup to work today

My daughter volunteers weekly at the Humane Society and brought this little gal home for fostering over the Thanksgiving weekend, knowing full well that she would not be taking her back there:

We've got a 7.5 year old White German Shepherd named Dexter:

and a 13 week old traditional German Shepherd named Morgan:

ETA- for anyone who remembers the story of my dog eating baby bunnies out of the mother's belly, the one on the left did that and then proceeded to puke them up whole in my bedroom.  She also has been sprayed by 2 skunks and killed one of them (she came in with her muzzle covered in blood).

Yes on the scream (a few times). What is the 500?

Dude's a lot of work - never sits still when awake - but very smart and loving. Great pup.
The Shiba 500 is when for no reason at all the dog just starts racing around the house like a maniac. Ours use to do it all the time when they were young.

oh, yes - weirdly enough when he was very young it would happen between 8:30 and 9:00 pm almost every night. He just did it again last night and my son was cracking up.

I bump this thread with a bittersweet update. My wife works for a vet and about 3 weeks ago she brought home this 8 month old cutie pie that someone didn't want. I was hooked right away. We named her Peanut. It's what she answers to.

On Tuesday we lost our first dog we've had since we've been together. Caddie was 15 yrs/8 months and had lived in this house almost as long as we have. I'm gonna miss you girl.
