Post Your unpopular opinions (1 Viewer)

Beer is terrible waste of money...that causes 20-times more problems than it solves.
You may not entirely "get" the point of beer.
Oh, I get the point of beer. Buried three good friends in high school 20 years ago and my 23-year old cousin last year thanks to the mighty buzz and others trying to escape their troubles for a few hours, then crawling behind the wheel. Wish I didn't get it...but I wasn't given a choice in the matter.
I lost my grandparents thanks to a drunk driver behind the wheel of a loaded dump truck. The problem was not the beer, the problem is the driver. I am sure he learned his lesson after 13 months of probation.Beer, like most things, is not intrinsically evil.
People, like beer, are not intrinsically evil either. Problem is, you put certain things or certain temptations in certain people's hands, and a whole lot of innocent people suffer health/financial loss and/or their lives as a result. Everything from hurtful words and bar fights to rape and vehicular manslaughter.Cost benefit analysis. If the costs ($$$, 13 months probation, hopefully guilt for taking the lives of innocent victims, BAD press, etc.) do not at least equal or outweigh the benefits (getting a buzz, forgetting a ####ty day/week/month/year/life for a few hours, etc.), then people are gonna keep on keeping on. Case in point: You can get about 60-times more jail time for illegally copying CDs/DVDs than you can for driving drunk in Florida and killing a pedestrian crossing the street. Donte Stallworth might actually use the situation to turn his life around. However, is it because he truly feels remorse, or because of all the heavy press that cast him in a negative light? And if it is the latter, how many hundreds/thousands of individuals out there didn't get their dumb-### decision dragged out into the light of day for everyone to see?

Alcohol isn't evil. The ABUSE of alcohol and the consequences that result thereof? You tell me.
If that's not a fair-handed, impartial and honest cost-benefit analysis, then I don't know what is.

Without reading all 19 pages, I think that the democrats retaining the House and the Senate this Tuesday would be unpopular.

 Where's the opinion?
I thought that it was already accepted that the GOP has won the House in this election cycle. That is why I thought that Dems retaining the House and Senate would be unpopular. Did I miss your point?
Yes.

Not every kid is special. You can't grow up to be anything you want. Christmas, Easter, birthdays and any other holiday that "requires" kids get presents just because 365 days have passed are stupid. You want an Ipod, tickle-me-elmo, ps3, or new bike? Do something for it. In adult life, people have to actually earn things, giant bunnies don't bring you a new car or rent money.
well, sometimes they do but you have to do some pretty revolting stuff to get it.

Tom Hanks is one of the most overrated actors. Most of his "great" movies are actually average. Forrest Gump and Cast Away were not good movies.

Some of his best movies were early in his career. Volunteers, The Burbs, Big, Splash, Bachelor Party, etc...

Tupac Shakur was the most overrated musician of my generation... after Pearl Jam.

"The Wire" was cliche-ridden and uninteresting... but not as cliche-ridden and uninteresting as "Rescue Me."

I never really understood the genius of Tupac either, and I love a lot of hip-hop from that era.

I think I would bang Brooke Hogan. Maybe belongs in the other thread about less than attractive women that you have a thing for but I am sure the unpopular sentiment will carry the day.

Feminists who think facials are demeaning need to have some semen sprayed on them in the heat of the moment. It's like a religious experience: you need to experience it yourself in order to understand how great it is for everyone.
can't believe this post is still around

I know...I am embarassed about it too. Unpopular opinion.

I find college football usually quite boring and rarely watch more than a quarter per week.

I will watch an entire regular season MLB or NBA game before an NCAA football game. However, I usually do watch the big bowl games...but that's usually it.

Few people I think should be forced to reproduce in the name of science.

Bill Gates x Serena Williams

Lebron James x Judit Polgár

Prince X Daniel Day-Lewis

Graduation ceremonies are a complete waste of time.
:goodposting: so are big, long, expensive weddings..
Well...... as long as they have a open bar all night (and only premium to boot), with an "appetizer hour" that blew every other wedding i've been to in the last 5 years main course out of the water. I'm definitely fine with the extra half hour of ceremony bull crap. (My cousin's wedding. Can't wait for her sister to try and out do next year)
