PPR question (1 Viewer)

So my league is changing our scoring system this year and we want to add points for receptions.

I am a big supporter of PPR, right now it looks like a reception is going to be worth .25 points, I have not played in a PPR league before and want to know what is the standard point value rewarded for a reception.

Rush/Rec: 10yds = 1pt, TD = 6pts currently

We start 3WR, 2RB, and a flex RB/WR/TE

It seems like rewarding a full point for a reception would put to much value on WRs, but i think .25 might be a little low.... what say you guys??

TIA

Do you think the difference between a guy who catches 96 balls this year and a guy who catches 32 balls should be more than 1 point per game for the receptions? I do.

I think the 0.25 per catch is ridiculously low. Great way to illustrate it though!I like the 1 point per reception for PPR. This goes for backs and receivers. I have no problem was this extra dimension to scoring. Of course, we reward carries as well, 0.25 per carry. So, for comparisons sake a receiver who catches 6 balls and a runner who carries 24 times would each get 6 points, the equivalent of a TD.

Most PPR leagues are just that a POINT per reception...but if you want to devalue the RB slightly, then give 1 point per reception for the TE and WR and either half a point or quarter point for receptions by running backs

We started out about 5 years ago giving WR's and TE's plus .5 per catch. After 5 years we realized that that still does not close the gap with RB's. This year we went to 1 full point per reception. We are hoping to bring the RB's and WR's more in balance. We do not reward the RB's with any bonus for receptions.

I did a five year study of players in PPR scoring. Check out the wannabee thread in the assistant coach forum and there was a thread here in the shark pool. It shows how many of each position are in the top 10, top 20, all the way up to top 100 players each year.
