This game can be summed up by who can create the most turnovers and convert those into tds. Here are the reasons that I think the Steelers should be favorites to win:1. The Jets were successful today keeping drives alive by running the ball. The Steelers are much better at stopping the run than New England is. Mark Sanchez faced several 3rd and 5s today; against the Steelers, those are 3rd and 9s. 2. The Jets offensive line also did a good job of protecting Sanchez, especially in the 2nd half. Again, I think the Steelers have a better pass rush than New England and Sanchez will be forced to make quicker decisions.3. I noticed today that New England was able to move the ball on the ground but was impatient with it. The Steelers will be able to run the ball as good or better than New England did and should stay with it longer. 4. Pittsburgh has faster wide receivers than New England does and I think they can stretch the field. Of course the key to this is how much pressure is placed on Roethlisberger- but unlike Tom Brady, Big Ben is used to having guys in his face, and as good as Shaun Ellis and company were today, I doubt they can improve on Suggs. So the Steelers will have more big plays than New England did. But this game will be close and the Steelers have to make sure to avoid turnovers and special team mistakes. If they can do so, I think they they will win a nailbiter. Steelers 24-20
IIRC the tall burner types are usually Cromarties duty, Lets see if Rex switches it upPitt 20NYJ 17Mike Wallace had 7-102-0 last month when they played. Can Revis shut him down this time?

As a fan with no vested interest, that's what I'm hoping for. Would be an incredible game.Pitt vs. GB is going to make one heck of a Superbowl.
Cromartie was on him last time. Revis was nursing the sore hammy.IIRC the tall burner types are usually Cromarties duty, Lets see if Rex switches it up
That is correct. Wallace was trying to bait Revis into trying to cover him leading up to the game.Cromartie was on him last time. Revis was nursing the sore hammy.IIRC the tall burner types are usually Cromarties duty, Lets see if Rex switches it up
Wallace was wide open on the last play.. right under the goal post.. ben never saw him..People keep pointing to Troy being out for the last PIT/NYJ meeting, but just as important was Heath Miller being out too. Ben was looking for the TE in the endzone at the end of the game and Spaeth choked. Heath would have made that catch. With a healthy team and keeping turnovers minimal, I am confident in PIT.
That probably won't happen. The speed of Wallace can still burn an excellent cover corner.Spaeth dropped five catchable balls that game. And Revis covered everyone but Wallace. I am guessing that will change, which is ok by me with how the two rookies have been playing.

My 11 yr old son just played Jets-Steelers matchup on Madden 11 and he came to the same conclusion with Ben throwing for 9 tds.My first reaction is the Jets just played their Super Bowl and will have nothing for this game, resulting in the Steelers winning in a rout.
You left out one big one...Nick Folk has 6 missed FGs under 50 yards so far this year...many that seem painfully makeable, including one today that could've hurt them. Guy doesn't seem like he can handle pressure kicks well. And Heinz Field is the last place you want to bring in a kicker that has trouble with clutch kicks...Here are the reasons that I think the Steelers should be favorites to win:1. Ouch.I'm not touching that one.But I can guarantee the outrage over the officiating will be greater if the Steelers win compared to any of the other teams still standing. If one of the AFC teams goes on to win the SB, during the celebrating which drunk should women fear most? Roethlisberger or Namath?
I think the Jets biggest advantage will be Ryan's familiarity with Larry Foote.

He should. Cromartie seems to get burned as often as he makes a big play, and a big play or two by Wallace could be the difference. Revis shutting down a somewhat over the hill Ward would seem wasteful.bicycle_seat_sniffer said:IIRC the tall burner types are usually Cromarties duty, Lets see if Rex switches it upGhost Rider said:Mike Wallace had 7-102-0 last month when they played. Pass rush is (arguably) the Jets' biggest defensive weakness. I'm amazed at the pressure they got on Brady today...I don't think the Pitt Oline will be healthy enough to give Ben time against the Jets pass rush.
