***Pre-Game Thread*** New York Jets at Pittsburgh (1 Viewer)

The cockiness of Steelers fans is hilarious. Did they not watch last week's game? Anything could happen in this one.

I'll take the Steelers, but I don't feel good about it at all.

I don't think most Steeler fans are all that cocky. There's a difference between cockiness and confidence. I am quietly confident that the Steelers are a better team than the Jets. Add that to home field, and the Steelers should win. I think Jets fans, and anyone rooting for the Jets today, WANT the Steeler fans and the experts that pick Pittsburgh to win to be cocky, because that makes for a better story if the Jets win. Fans like the big upset and they love shutting up the cocky favorites and making the experts look bad. But the truth is it hasn't been that way this week. If the Jets do win it will be an upset, but not a very big one.

Yeah if the Steelers players are confident, they're not letting it leak to the media. To their credit, the Jets players have been pretty quiet and respectful throughout the week as well. The closer we get to game time, the less confident I am. Everyone keeps telling me it's the Jets time............

As a Jets fan, I could not care less about the extraneous trash talking and "expert's" picks. I just want them to win. I was 14 the last time the Jets went to the Super Bowl, and too young to appreciate it as much as I should have. 41 years is a long time to wait. I don't care if they get outplayed, get lucky or don't "deserve" to win. As long as they win.

I am not a fan of either of these teams at all. I am tired of watching the Steelers play on prime time and the Jets love all year long from Hard Knocks and foot fetishes to the fixed affair in New England. The NFL and the networks love ratings and that means Jets vs Bears. Jets 24- Steelers 17....

 I think that means the exact opposite...Steelers vs. Packers is most desirable matchup to draw in the most fans.

To be honest, I think any of these matchups would be great for the NFL. All 4 teams are either big markets or franchises with a ton of history. I'm hoping for a Steelers/Packers matchup because I want a chance to beat the best (and I think the Packers are the best right now)

Yeah, true. But I would hate Chicago/NY Jets personally. My Super Bowl rooting preference is Steelers, Packers, Bears, and Jets in that order, LOL.

 totally agree

I am certainly not feeling over-confident about this game. I think we can win, but it is far from a certainty. I do find it funny that jets fans keep pointing at their wins over Indy and New England. Those two teams are completely different from Pittsburgh.

Is it just me or does anyone else think the media coverage this week has been 40% Jets, 30% Packers, 20% Steelers, 10% Chicago... Just my impression

My buddy went to the sewer in the woods (Gillette) last weekend and he is at Heinz Field this week. He told me its night and day. Pats fans (divisional rivals) are a bunch of foul mouthed punks. Everybody in Pittsburgh has been good to them. He also said you can't go two feet without running into somebody wearing Stillers gear - from babies to grandmas.

I've been to Pittsburgh in the middle of March or May and heard fans talking them up. 24/7/365 Stillers in that town.

:respect:
