I've had him for one week. Last week. Not impressed but going to hold. Last week was a glitch.
I doubt he goes back, this guy is living on two huge games. Story of his career and of Denver since that coach arrived. How is it possible that the #1 wr gets only 3 targets in a week where the team was blown out of the water and they were forced to pass all day?
I hate hearing stuff like this!!! I have him in my lineup over MW(TB) and now I am re-thinking the whole thing after last weeks epic fail!!! UUUUGH!!I doubt he goes back, this guy is living on two huge games. Considering he got hurt last week and he has faced Asomugha and Revis the previous two weeks I think holding is also the call right now. If he lights it up again though you've got to try and move him in dynasty. Even if he does well the rest of the year I don't feel like this is going to be something going on for the next 3-5 years.People are using last weeks game to lower his value....no one interested in him this week...good idea to hold IMO - hopefully will have a good game going into the bye.
Actually its 4 big games. He's only had too below average games.I doubt he goes back, this guy is living on two huge games. Very possible. Denver did not target any of their wide receivers the entire game when Asomugha was covering them. Asomugha covered Lloyd almost the entire game. It's the Revis effect in Oakland. I would expect Mike Williams of Seattle to come back to earth after Asomugha covers him all day on Sunday. Lloyd is fine. He may not end up top-10, but in that offense he will certainly produce at least top-20 numbers. How is it possible that the #1 wr gets only 3 targets in a week where the team was blown out of the water and they were forced to pass all day?
He also was hurt for part of the game last week if I read correctly.Very possible. Denver did not target any of their wide receivers the entire game when Asomugha was covering them. Ive always thought of Lloyd as a nice sleeper. I saw him in predraft workouts, i saw him with the 49ers. I obviously thought higher of him than NFL front office people because while the Miami Dolphins two years ago sported the worst WR group in the league (Ted Ginn, Greg Camarillo, D. Bess etc.) as they were in a 1-15 season, Lloyd had sat as a free agent. Denver is ok, maybe not as wonderful as the stats can lead us to believe. But more so, the cold weather is going to bite the behinds of people dependign on their passing game as will tougher opponents. I personally would not want B.Lloyd as anything more than a #2 WR (More ideally a #3) going into December.Through 7 games last season Brandon Marshall had 33 catches for 356 yards and 4 touchdowns. Lloyd currently has 35 catches for 709 and 3 touchdowns.I don't know that anyone expects Lloyd to end the season with 1600 yards. But I have a hard time finding a big reason to see a precipitous dropoff in his numbers from here on out. You say be happy with WR2/3 numbers. So let's look at that a little bit. Averaging out all players from 18 to 30 we find that the numbers say a WR2/3 is about 29 catches for 360 yards and 3 touchdowns. So you are predicting that if Lloyd and Orton stay healthy we can expect a similar number of catches but a 50% drop in yards per catch and his touchdowns to remain the same. I guess I'd like you to unpack that a little bit.
People overrate the weather so much. Denver's offense is a throwing offense, they will continue to throw even when it gets cold.Ive always thought of Lloyd as a nice sleeper. he has always had talent .... he just lost jobs because he has had some bouts of the dropsiesCant say I saw this coming at all. He looks flat out solid out there. Where has he been for the last, oh, seven years??
He's halfway there on the yardage.Ive always thought of Lloyd as a nice sleeper. I saw him in predraft workouts, i saw him with the 49ers. Yeah, I can't explain it either, but I've embraced it by trading for him in dynasty. Couldn't be happier about the move.I wish I had heard a good explanation as to why Lloyd is playing like this, but I haven't. Maybe he solved some personal issues which have made a difference. Whatever it is, Lloyd is playing great and his pairing with Orton is a big part of it. If Orton gets hurt, sell immediately IMO. Orton is a strike thrower and Lloyd's timing, route-running, and hands are in perfect harmony with him. Looks like the only way to stop Denver is to put a shutdown corner on Lloyd, and there aren't many of those.
Since his rookie year, Lloyd has had the following quarterbacks throwing to him:Tim RattayKen DorseyAlex SmithCody PickettJason CampbellMark Brunell (for 9 games at the end of his career)Todd CollinsYou can make a pretty good argument that Kyle Orton is the best quarterback that Lloyd has ever played with.I wish I had heard a good explanation as to why Lloyd is playing like this, but I haven't.
Wow, that is terrible. I understand they have more than one writer but those are polar opposite opinions.Look at the tripe that is Rotoworld...
Brandon Lloyd-WR- Broncos Oct. 24 - 7:46 pm et
Brandon Lloyd was held to one reception for 46 yards against the Raiders in Week 7.
Lloyd pulled a disappearing act, and he was targeted just just three times on the afternoon. His one reception came on the Broncos' final drive in extreme garbage time with many of the Raiders starters long gone. Lloyd's best games of the season are behind him, but he should retain WR3 value heading into next week's game at San Francisco.

Brandon Lloyd caught seven passes for 169 yards with a touchdown in Sunday's 24-16 loss to the 49ers.
There shouldn't be a doubt that Lloyd is the NFL's most improved player. He makes ridiculously difficult catches regularly (he had a spectacular one-handed touchdown catch today) and gets behind the defense with ease. Lloyd is on pace for 84 catches, 1,756 yards and eight touchdowns. He won't quite maintain that spectacular pace, but we're not selling high either. Lloyd is for real.

I would have made that deal; quite often Denver seemed like a four-headed WRBC, and Lloyd was ranked fourth in that group by most people. He's been an even bigger surprise than Hillis IMO. You just don't see an 7, 8 year journeyman bust out with a pro bowl year. Its a great story and I don't think anyone (other than the OP) saw it coming.I sold high on Lloyd earlier this year, dealing him straight up for Cedric Benson. My RB corps was horribly depleted, so it was a bit of a desperate move.Looking back, I really wish I kept Lloyd.![]()
I was going to suggest Joe Horn but Horn broke out in his 5th year. Ed McCaffrey had his first 1000 yard season in his 8th year, but he'd been a productive #3 WR for several years before that. He's been an even bigger surprise than Hillis IMO. I remember Tony Martin developed very late. He was nearly as useless as Lloyd for most of his career, then he started to do well when he was 29. He had a monster season in 1996 when he was 31. But he was at least moving in the right direction for 2 years leading up to his monster season. What has made Lloyd so shocking to me, is I half thought he was out of the league already. He has done virtually nothing for many years now. Now all of the sudden he's awesome. Nobody saw it coming. Heck, I bet he didn't even roster himself in any leagues prior to the season.I was going to suggest Joe Horn but Horn broke out in his 5th year. Supposedly Kyle Orton really liked him back in Chicago, then Lloyd got hurt and was out for an extended time. I wonder if Orton played a part in getting him to Denver. Now all of the sudden he's awesome. Nobody saw it coming.
Now on pace for 1721/11.On pace for 1885/10.![]()
