Preseason week 4, who will play (1 Viewer)

Not going to be the only one contributing, cmon whaddya see on the web, who is playing significant minutes?

backups fighting for roster spots and pecking order on the depth chart. Week 3 this year was MUCH lighter for most teams in terms of their starters in comparison to prior years and week 4 is likely to be a waste of time fantasy wise.

Titans-

Mariota is probably not starting or playing. Titans starters asked to play after poor game last week which sort of threw Whisenhunt. Waiting for him to chime in.

Mett's great summer had a stinker last week so the thought is he'll play a bit for his confidence. Should be mostly Whitehurst and Tanney

QB Tanney and RB Fluellen expected to play second half at least

Tanney likes to show off that arm so he might be decent for DFS...hard week to predict

DFS gives me a reason to not make this the last week to get chores done on the weekend

The Bengals really want to find out if AJ McCarron is ready to be a reliable #2. They know what they have in Dalton and had an injury scare last week. They just cut Josh Johnson.

He will probably get stuck with guys like Cedric Peerman and Tyler Kroft, but I expect him to play a ton @Indy.

The 4th week is really a waste of time for almost everyone except for the 2 or 3 players per team that are fighting for the last roster spot. Coming into the 4th game every team knows their roster with 95% certainty and only an injury is going to change anything. The only reason why they still have 75 players is so they can field a team for the last preseason game.

This last preseason game has almost no entertainment value other than to watch guys audition for the practice squad or hoping to picked up by another team.

It is really just a way for the owners to make some easy money.

For the Steelers the main thing they'll be looking at is Scobee and the competition at punter.

From a DFS standpoint Josh Harris RB for the Steelers might be an option. Tomlin mentioned him by name as a guy on the bubble but didn't specifically say he would get a lot of work. However he has been hurt and hadn't really played yet this pure season - so adding it all up and trying to read the tea leaves he might get a lot of work.

Can't see anything yet about RG3 or Cassell whom will supposedly be cut. If either could dominate the 4th string in the second half...who knows, maybe they get picked up.

The cut rumor doesn't need to be true, it's valid here for motivation.

What Godsbrother said. This is the WORST weekend of football. It's sooooo close, but we have to sit through the absolute worst games of the entire season. To me, it's sort of like being 7 years old and it's December 23rd and you're forced to watch a bunch of other kids play with the toys you want for Christmas.

But we got opening of college football so it could be a lot worse.

I don't believe RG3 has cleared the concussion protocol yet, and local radio says he won't be re-evaluated until "later this week."

My money is on him not playing at all this week.

I wonder if the Redskins will show off sparkling rookie Matt Jones this week? Or will they try to protect him for the regular season?

PK has Mariota not playing, Wyatt points out if it's 8 plays or so, does it matter?

Marcus Mariota - QB - Titans
Titans rookie QB Marcus Mariota is expected to start the team's fourth preseason game.
Starters rarely play in the preseason finale, but coach Ken Whisenhunt apparently feels getting his rookie signal caller a couple extra meaningless snaps is necessary for his development. Mariota being on the field means the first-team offensive line and several skill position players will likely suit up as well.

This thread should be called "Preseason Week 4, who will WATCH?"
How do you figure? Are we discussing who will watch the games? Taking roll call of sorts?
Just a short way of saying that I think it is fairly meaningless. Almost no significant player plays these games and if for some reason a team decides to play one, like Mariota is, I still am not savvy enough to know what to make of that because I just see it as more likely that bad things happen than good. If he gets hurt, it is disaster. If he plays and plays poorly, people say "well, its with all the 4th stringers, guys getting cut....nothing to take from it." If he plays well, they say "Well, it was AGAINST 4th stringers, guys getting cut.."

So, to me, all it does is create unfounded hype and, in real life, sucks dollars from people's pockets. Disclaimer: I am a bitter FORMER season ticket holder who walked away because I didn't like being forced to buy pre-season tickets in my package.

So, I wasn't really adding anything of value to the thread (I apologize for being a troll) but I really don't think there is much to gain from it.
