Is he going to be this years Frank Gore or this Years Marion Barber?

If he is Gore he is a steal in the 2nd round. If he is this years Barber he should be taken around the 4th round.

I,m guessing around 1,050 and 10 td's.

Which would put him somewhere in the mid third round.

Anyways, I'm not sure if you're looking to compare them as players, similarities or non-similarities in roles, or just pure FF Pts, but I don't think he really fits with either of the two you mentioned. He'll get far fewer carries, and won't nearly be the back that Gore is, and he'll get far more carries than Barber. I think the projections you mentioned sound just about right. I'm guessing somewhere between 1000-1100 and 9-10 TDs, which should put him well behind Gore, and probably ahead of Barber by a decent margin.

And if you just mean "steal" and arent comparing the type of backs they are, no way. Jacobs shouldn't be a 2nd round pick, that is reaching and i think if you take him there he has to perform so well or you're behind the curve. 4th? Sure, he is worth the risk there but any earlier and it isn't value. IMO.

Eli is not the QB that The Ginats hoped for, Plexiglass is showing signs of fragility and the G-Men's O-line is not what it used to be when Tiki had his great seasons. I'm sorry, but you are just not informed... Eddie George happened to have a few good years in the league and that is exactly who I would compare Jacobs to. Jacobs is 1 inch taller and 20 pounds heavier. And that's all muscle. Jacobs seems to run with more authority than George from what I remember and is much faster. I really do feel sorry for the guys that have to try and tackle him once he gets past the first level this year. He is going to hurt somebody. I'm serious. He is a complete Beast. I took him in the 3rd of a 10 team league not wanting to risk losing him in the 4th, since Yahoo decided to bump up his ranking right before my draft. He could do better than my projections depending on the passing game, but I feel very confident with the range of the numbers below.Projections:1200-1400 Yds, 12-14 TDs, 25 Rec 250 Yds

The Giants as a team rushed for 2156 Yards(7th best in league) "last year" at a 4.7 clip. Thats better than the great Denver Broncos RB Factory in both categories.

I think you'll see him log between 275-300 carries if he plays all 16 games. The threat of Droughns IMO is more insurance policy and 'spell here and there' RB rather than an RBBC threat.

Also, Coughlin loves to pound the ball into the end zone and he's got the perfect weapon to do so with in Jacobs. The lead TD RB under Coughlin has gotten at least 9 TD's the last 9 years he's coached. And in a few of those years where the lead RB only had 9, the secondary RB had 6-8.

I see Jacobs hitting the 1300 total yards mark with about 10-11 TD's at a minimum.

In the three drafts I have done this year Brandon Jacobs has not lasted until the 3rd round he is usually taken by the end of the second round.

I think people are sleeping on Jacobs. I thought I would be be able to grab him at the end of the second round but he was picked one slot before me. Droughns is not a threat in my eyes, he will spell Jacobs but this will not be a RBBC. The thing that helps his case is he is own goaline vulture. A 1000 yards on the ground is the minimal, max I say around 1200 and then throw in around 150-200 in the passing game 8-11 total TD's. I think everyone is just looking at his rushing aspect and goaline touchdowns but he can actually catch decent. The Giants are good or have been good with the screen passes of course that has been with Tiki in the past. Wait till this guy gets into open space on a screen pass man I would not want to be a DB trying to tame a beast like that. No one man will be taking this guy down on a consisent basis that is for sure.

Seriously I have heard so many comments about his size but anybody who has seen him play knows this kid is complete. He has the size but more important the speed too. All muscle guy.. I don't see how 1300 yards will be a problem if he plays 16 games. think that is pretty conservative. He is in a run happy offense who likes to pound the football. You have a RB that can do that. Ever hear of Jerome Bettis ? Eddie George ? Jamal Lewis ? I think 10 TDs are his floor this year...he scored 9 last year with Barber there.I love that people are sleeping on him, I got him as my #2 in one league and going to target him for my #2 today in my other draft.

4th round? he's the #1 on a team that loves to run the ball... in td heavy leagues, he's especially valuable... early 3rd or mid 3rd at the latest... IMHO, he's a great 2nd back for teams drafting in the 1, 2, or 3 slots of a redraft

He's only going to have 328 more total and 1 less TD than he did in 2006 backing up Tiki Barber who garnered 385 touches in 2006? Are you predicting a 2.5 YPC?

I have had the same concerns, but the Dude is a MONSTER. If he stays healthy all season he could shock a lot of people and exceed expectations. I still like Bradshaw long term, but fire up the popcorn. I think every one should be happy with 1100 yards and 10 TD's, making Jacobs a good Number 2. IF he exceeds those numbers I think does it by a lot - 1650 Rushing and 17-18 TD's. Either he is going to be middle of the road this year or blow the *&^% up.P.S. M Barber is not going to come close to last years numbers. Cowboy staff is trying like hell to get J. Jones to pick up the slack this year. Barbers got lots of work to do on his blocking before he becomes the man, IMHO.

I think this guy is the most slept on player PERIOD this year. People saying he's a 4th rounder either haven't seen him play or don't know what they're talking about.

In my eyes, he's a great late 2nd round pick if you're going for a RB. I would much rather have him than Edge or Ronnie, and probably Benson for that matter because of injury concerns for him. Fact is, he's slipped to a 3rd rounder bc of all the runs on WR's late 2nd-early 3rd. Either way, I'd much rather have him as my RB2 than say TJ, Ahman, or Caddy

My projections for him are 1100 rushing, 180 rec, and 13 TDs. The TD's may be slightly optimistic, but I think the yards are likely a bit low. He had 9 TDs part time last yr, and like a previous poster said, COughlin likes to pound it in at the GL. Just last game, he gave Jacobs 3-4 chances, ON 1 SERIES, to put in the endzone - which he did.

My projections have him at RB14, behind Willis and ahead of Benson (same pts though). I think he has a lot more upside than any RB, barring Portis (maybe not though), thats being taken around or after him.

And to those who said you have seen him carry the load a full year. Have you seen Addai, Maroney, or even Benson for that matter be the full time back? No, and it's not hurting their draft stock

After watching him in the preseason, I don't have an answer... er, should I say opinion. When he remembers to get under his pads, he's a freakin beast, but all too often, he runs straight up and takes big shots. Big backs are effective when they run through the LoS the way Bettis did... low. It's fine to come up after initial contact, and look for space to run in, but Jacobs tends to do that at the point of contact, which isn't good. He isn't shifty enough to run that way without taking big hits. When he does get low, as he did against the Jets, he'll get 4 yards even when there is no hole. If he runs high, the way he did against Philly I believe it was, getting 3 GL carries in a row, he is much easier to knock down.

I did draft him in one league.... talk radio in NY was saying that the GMen will use both Droughns and Jacobs in the same backfield. This is a player that I think is very hard to project at this point. He has a pretty high basement though, it's his cieling that his hard to figure.

He'll be closer to Gore just because he is THE featured back on that team. MB3 is a specialty back who will yo-yo between 5 and 15 carries in any given game.

General consensus for mock/real drafts to this point is that JAcobs is taken as the 18-20th RB off the board. I think its more than reasonable to assume he will be a top 20 back this year. IMO, i think there is more of a chance that he will be top 10 than there is of sliding out of the top 20.

He's my RB2 in a 16-team league behind Addai. By the time my pick came around at 3.13, RB choices were getting slim. It was him or start picking RBBC guys like Fred Taylor, Dunn, et al.

I'll have as my #2. I kinda like the guy but I don't feel good about the Sunday night matchup with the Boys. I fear Dallas going up 14-0 in a hurry and BJ getting 12 carries the whole game. My hopes are pinned to a touchdown thrust, which I suppose is more likely for him to get than most backs.

Mark him down as alot of FF points in your #2 slot. I think in a year or 2 barring bad health he'll be a good low end #1 RB.

I really don't see very many good things in store for the Giants this year. I took him as my RB2 in my main money league because I got him at good value and I like the Giants schedule weeks 14-16. I'd be pretty surprised if he managed 1300 yds.

I think he'll get around 280 carries, 4.1 YPC. 1150 yds, 10TDs. 175 rec, 1TD receiving. I'm probably a bit optimistic.

Back to being civil I see. I heard it in the offseason....the coaching staff's biggest concern was him being fresh in the 4th quarter....and how there were times when he was winded last year...and he wasn't even the main back. I read anonymous quotes about him from trainers on the Giants staff saying they were concerned with his work ethic and how he'd hold up....IN THE OFFSEASON. Granted, I've read the same articles as all of you about him training hard and putting in his work, I'm just throwing it out there that that is, in my eyes, as a Giants fan, his size isn't the problem, let's see how he holds up handling the ball 20 times a game......I want him punishing people in the 4th quarter, not going down on first contact.
