Purging Trump from the right - How difficult would it be? (1 Viewer)

Great topic, but reading through that article it's amazing the author doesn't mention Trump once. Albeit it was September 2015 but Trump was already the leader at the turn.

Who's purging who?

It seems like it's Trump who has made "right wing" synonymous with nationalism, and it's the Trumpites who have attempted to excise non-believers from the ranks.

Buckley never had to deal with anything like this.

Yeah, right. At this point, it seems like that might be the case. But this seems like hysteria, and a bad moment for Republicans.

I think maybe Buckley never had to deal with anything like this because Buckley would have already trounced Trump in a debate about five times already and had the full right-wing intellectual guns out on Trump. These days, Trump takes on so effectively what the right has hated for so long (the media, academia, political correct-ites) that it must cause them dissonance.
