When Harrison won his first Super Bowl with the Patriots, I was very happy for him. He was one of my favorite players on the Chargers and SD still hasn't found a replacement for him since he left.
I'm sure my feelings towards Seau would be similar except for the timing of when he joined the Patriots. Rodney became a Pat when they were a scrappy group that were easy to root for. By the time Seau signed there, they'd already won three titles, so it's like in baseball if one of my favorite players signed with the Red Sox or Yankees. I can't bring myself to root for the evil empire.
Then came the playoff game against the Pats last year. After the scene immediately after that game, I lost any respect I had for that organization. I recognize that this year's team is possibly the greatest one I've seen in my lifetime, and I deliberately try to stay out of most of the SP forums because they all turn in to "I hate the Patriots" forums. But this one just seemed to hit on something I felt while watching the game last night.
Rodney and Junior are dead to me now. I take no comfort in seeing them win anything. I hope the Chargers win today, and then go up to Gillette next week and shock the world, and then after the game the whole team does the "Lights Out" dance on the Pats logo while Norv gets Belichek to tap out to the figure-four leglock. Anything less than that happening this year would be a disappointment.
Yes, I know there's a snowball's chance in hell of it happening, but hey, a guy can dream.
