I think its obvious that he can play decent when Barkley has an all world season...but without that...yeah, middle of the road QB at best.

How about 2022 when Barkley was just a glimmer in Howie's eye and Hurts was the odds on favorite for MVP prior to getting injured in Chicago in week 14?

He had a lot more swagger back then…..feels like a decade ago

Sure, and believe me as an Eagles fan I am beyond frustrated. Just saying, he's already shown he can be one of the best in the league without having a record setting RB behind him. He did '22 with a combo of Miles Sanders and Kenny Gainwell.

Honestly, the fact that he did that three years ago makes this season that much more frustrating.

My hope is exactly what you’ve said — just an odd combo of things that have led to a temporary regression. I do think the abysmal OC issue cannot and should not be under-appreciated. Just historically bad.

Yeah its semantics IMO.

We can argue what he said, etc, what can't be argued is the stats you have provided and what my eyes tell me.

For whatever reason he does *not* want to rush the ball this year.

Maybe he simply doesn't trust the OC's game plan and offense, maybe he doesn't want to get hurt.

The Reason or what words were said don't really matter.

And I believe it was D Gunn that started the smoke here, who is one of the most respected writers in the Eagles world of reporters.

Your QB needs to run? How about the RB? Does he get a chance to run the ball at all? How about leave the running to the RB and the passing to the QB. Oh, that's right, Hurts can't pass very well.

You guys in here are literally proving my point about Hurts, especially with all the talk of "he needs to run more".
