I don’t disagree with that, however there are more quite a few more quarterbacks that I would have more confidence in doing that over Hurts. I do think he is a good quarterback, however I would place him lower than consensus is the best way I can put it.

Hurts doesn't need to be the best QB in the league. He doesn't need to be the best QB in the game. He just needs to be his best on gameday and the Eagles can win it all. That's the beauty of the Eagles. If Hurts plays a B game, the Eagles can win. If Daniels, Mahomes or Allen play a B game, they're done.
I can agree with a lot of this. I think Hurts is roughly QB10 or so in the NFL, whereas I think Daniels is QB5 or so, however the difference between them is significant. I think Washington still eeks into the playoffs with Hurts, but fully agree that if Daniels was Philly's QB, they are the overwhelming Super Bowl favorite, like -7.
That said, I'd be a little surprised if Washington beat Philly. Other than QB, I'm not sure they win any other position.
I don't understand the Jalen disrespect. He doesn't have to pass for a gazillion yards. The guys a team player who plays through injuries. Granted he has 2 of the best WRs in the league and a really good tight end. But when you have a generational talent when healthy such a Saquon you take advantage of that. His passer rating is up this year. If you average out 17 games, he's 500+ passing yards off from last year. With what 140+ less attempts. What do people expect his numbers to go through the rough with Saquon. You could argue their more balanced.

There could be a psychological study done on why fans are so sensitive about their QBs. You can say something about a player at any other position and nobody cares. Mention that their QB has a crooked toe and there will be full-blow fistacuffs. It's not just Eagles fans, it is every fan base. Very odd.

Fair enough. So in one post we went from "Its ideal to have a QB that elevates his teammates" then confirmed there are just such 2 QB's, but still, there are other QB's (that are not in the playoffs right now I presume) that you would have more confidence in than Jalen Hurts.

He hasnt taken his team anywhere ... His team has taken him to a SB

The funny thing about this being a "QB proof team" is, look at how locked up the entire core is for the next 2-4 years + the Eagles have both the youngest defense in the league that also is the #1 defense.
Devonta/AJ Brown locked up for the next 4+ years so as a Giants fan, you gotta realize you're in complete hell and a permanent basement dweller in the division for at least the next 3-4 years with no QB on the roster and having a high, yet not high enough pick in a week class.
But please keep telling us how great the Eagles team is in an effort to knock Jalen Hurts!

And yet, every single person that even casually watches the Eagles knows that if Jalen doesn't play; nay, even if Jalen plays, but plays hurt, the Eagles have no shot. That is the exact opposite of being QB proof. They literally need a healthy Jalen at QB to win. You don't know what you are talking about. At all.

Apparently you forgot ... The Eagles scored their most points this season destroying the Cowboys 41-7 and then beat the Giants with their 3rd string QB Tanner Mckee (who by the way has a better passer rating than Hurts) and he did it without Barkley
Eagles averaged 26 pts per game with Hurts 31 without him ... But nice try !

Jayden Daniels is having a good season. Hurts finished 2nd in MVP voting when he was the same age. Progression isn't always linear.

Hurts doesn't need to be great for PHI to win. The offense doesn't revolve around great QB play. Eagles are built to steamroll teams with a great RB and play great defense. That's a good formula says the list of Super Bowl champions.
Hurts is arguably the weakest link on the Birds offense. He only needs to NOT turn the ball over for PHI to win.

Ah yes, I have experienced that. Said something about DeVonta Smith to one guy (who didn’t know how to spell his name), he responded, I conceded that he would know better than I, and it was over. Within that day there were 10 other Eagles fan chiming in, calling me a clown, telling everyone to black me. Mountain out of a molehill. I don’t go in there anymore, have ignored every Eagle fan, and this forum is now great.

As i recall, you called him a replaceable receiver who is likely just utilized for his blocking. I found it amusing, I’m sure others did as well. Meant no disrespect, it’s just far off base is all.

There doesn't seem to BE a consensus on Hurts though.
Personally I think he belongs around the 10-11 area but it's difficult to argue against moving him 4 or 5 up or 4-6 spots down. His game, and his team are kind of unique in todays NFL. The jury is still out for some reason on this guy. Above 6 and below 18 seem to be outliers

I didn’t realize you were the same poster that wandered into the thread upset at the title. From your posts it wasn’t clear that the UnitedHealth guy was your friend rather than someone you just knew. Or I didn’t read it closely enough. Either way, sorry for your loss.
Back to football. Growing up, the best QBs I got to watch were Cunningham and McNabb with a lot of garbage in between. It feels like these two are facing off today, with Jayden as 12 and Hurts as 5.
Jayden is the fastest guy on the field with a rocket arm and doesn’t always need the best playmakers around him to make plays. Randall was like that. He also gives the impression that if by some miracle a defensive player gets a clean hit on him, he’ll break in half. Randall had a certain charisma that Daniels has too, even better.
Meanwhile, Jalen hasn’t always reminded me of McNabb, but the way he’s played this year has given me Deja vu. He’s a Threat to run, gets the ball to his playmakers for big gains, and really places a priority on taking care of the football. McNabb always had these personality quirks - he wasn’t a bad guy but it was just enough that many (including his own fan base) disliked the guy. Yep, hurts has that.
I understand why everyone thinks so highly of Daniels and is so skeptical of Hurts. At the end of the day, supporting cast matters. Which of these QBs ultimately is considered great when the dust settles will depend on whether Hurts takes advantage of his opportunity today (injured be damned) and whether Washington is able to surround Daniels with an o-line and playmakers similar to what Hurts has.
I suspect they will and today’s game is the first of many battles between these two.

The Eagles have the most talented roster of the teams still alive. That being the case, Hurts doesn't have the be the best QB playing that day, he just needs to be the best QB he can be and that will be more than enough for the Eagles to win. Don't care about stats, don't care about rankings, just care about winning.
He wasn't as quick, a little slow running, but not hobbled really. Played very well today, didnt hold the ball as often
