Almost every poll I see has some combination of Rodgers, Vick, Brady and Brees as "1 through 4," but who is your number 5 QB? Do you do with the injury risk - Manning - or the coming back from and injury with great weapons - Romo - or the consistently there but his supporting cast has questions - Rivers??? Please give me your opinion.

Went Rivers, but Romo has the higher ceiling IMO. Just hard to trust Romo for some reason.

Manning in ppg easily. But if he misses 2 weeks, total points will take a hit.

Why would you say Rivers' supporting cast has questions? Last year, he threw for 4710/30 with a revolving door at WR, TE, and RB. As of right now, all of the RBs, WRs, and TEs are healthy. The way the OP is phrased, I think Rivers is an easy choice. I also like Romo, though. I want no part of Peyton Manning this year.

I think it's probably the Gates question. VJax all year though. But Floyd is being panned this offseason too.

I voted other. Matt Ryan went in the third round of our draft and I really think that he will pan out.(No, I didn't draft him even though I wanted to.) Ryan should become a stud this year.

Good question... its actually TWO things I was thinking of:1) I've been reading about Gates injury and the way they describe it, even though he is sound now, it could flare up at any time and that might be "it" for him2) Last year, despite the lack of a "top flight" #1 running back, SD got 2041 yds and 18 TDs on the ground from their top 3 running backs, and 881 yds/2 tds in the air. They lost Sproles, who ran for 270 yds/0 tds but got 520 yds/2 TDs via the air. If Mathews simply picks up Sproles production but balances it 60/40 between run/pass, thats 204 yards and 1 TD less for Rivers (small number but so is the difference between these QBs). BUT if Mathews suprises people and lives up to what we thought he was BEFORE last year those run TDs could increase... or decrease if he scores a lot more via "dump off" passes for scores... THUS... questions...

I have them ranked similiar to you:

Rodgers

Brady

Vick (I personally would rather lose my league that have to root for him each week)

Rivers

Breese

Romo

But in the end I am waiting this year because I see Rothlisberger, Stafford, Schaub or Ryan as viable QB's in a 10 team league.

I would not be terribly unhappy with any of these guys starting for me. I like a few others am concerned with Peyton's neck issues.

Last year I think there was a drop off after the first 6. This year not so much.

I assume you are aware that Gates only played 9.5 games last year, and he was playing at less than 100% in most of them. As of right now, he is playing this year. There is really no reason to think he will play less this year than last year. He only had 65 targets last year.

This is a pretty confusing post. Bottom line, as of right now, Rivers gets Gates, Jackson, Floyd, and Crayton all year. Last year, that group combined to miss 29 games, yet Rivers still threw for 4710/30. He also gets third round draft pick Vincent Brown. And he gets a healthy Mathews. All of that will more than offset the loss of Sproles.

If the Manning news is true then I'd list them like this.

1. Aaron Rodgers

2. Tom Brady

3. Philip Rivers

4. Drew Brees

5. Matthew Stafford

6. Ben Roethlisburger

7. Tony Romo

8. Matt Ryan

9. Matt Schaub

10. Michael Vick
