QBBC--Favre--Rivers--Brooks (1 Viewer)

Is there any hope for this trio? I can't believe I'm saying this, but I drafted all three later in my draft hoping to find value in a QBBC.

Is this some sort of complex, cruel joke that the FBGs have inflicted on us, like in the movie "The Game"?

Next year, 5th round goes to a QB that won't give me diarrhea every other week. It'll be a shame missing out on a "value" like Dominic "1.8 YPC" Rhodes, though.

I tried this trio too :bag:

ive got that same trio and felt like the boat is sinking,,,,however.... there wasnt a good matchup amongst the 3 this week.... I started brooks thinking he might have a chance of passing on the chargers but he was pressured the whole game rivers in his first game figured to hand the ball off the whole game...favre figured to struggle against chicago... so i figured brooks was the best of the worst choice this week ... what scares me is oakland bringing in walters at the end...

next wek we have some better choices thankfully we wont have to roll the dice with brooks against baltimore

we have favre against new orleans which I think is the play or rivers against tenessee which may be another hand off fest ....

dont jump ship just yet one week does nota season make

what you've seen so far is the extreme w/ these players (not really talking about Brooks here.)

Favre is not going to have to face the Bears every week... if he sucks as bad next week vs New Orleanes... i'll join you out on the ledge. :cheezehead:

Rivers and SD aren't going to be facing Oak. every week... next week at Tenn doesn't look that much more promising... but after the week 3 bye they play Balt and then Philly... Rivers is going to have to pass in those games... and hopefully Shotty will show a lil more faith in his QB on 3rd and long after what he saw tonight... strength and accuracy

I'm in the same boat with favre and rivers. Although Pennington is available on auction waivers so I'm betting the farm to get him.

Who should I drop, favre or rivers?

i have that option and i'm staying put... he probably should have thrown for 4 TDs against the Titans w/ the help he got on the ground i'd drop Brooks though if i had him

dude, it could be worse. instead of rivers, you could also own jake plummer.

I have Plummer and Simms in one league. :bag:

HOLD ON HOLD HOLD ON

I think I've got a solution....right know I'm choosing b/t Leftwich and Rivers every week. Rivers just doesnt look like he's going to but up respectable numbers early in the season. Leftwich looked good for me, but I don't like him against Pitt next week.

So, here is the answer:

ALEX SMITH

He's playing STL and he had nice #s this week: 289yds and 1 TD and I bet he's available in your league too.

you all need to relax. Favre stared the season with one of the toughest defensive units he faces all season. The others are:

PHI

SEA

MIN

The rest?

all weak, and all VERY beatable.

Fave will be REALLY good this year, get him in the lineup this week and watch him take off.

And yes, I saw the Lions. Fluke week 1 emotion.

Brooks is horrible, I would drop him for Chad Pennington...

You won't be able to start him with confidence either, he could be pulled every time he starts. His confidence looks shot to hell...

The Titans run D is pretty good, and the Tennessee pass D is pretty bad. I think Rivers is a very good start this week against the Titans. You won't find many more favorable matchups for Rivers the rest of the year. (I had the Titans ranked as the 30th best D for stopping fantasy QBs, and nothing I saw on Sunday raised that ranking.)

I didn't think Brooks looked that bad last night. He held the ball too long a few times, but replays showed the Chargers had everybody covered pretty tight. He was under pressure all night. Courtney Anderson dropped a couple big passes in the first half, both of which would have been first downs and given the Raiders their first taste of offensive momentum. I'd lay most of the blame for last night's performance at the feet of Courtney & the O-line.

Guilty as charged with the same combo. I think the thing I'm most concerned with is that Brooks won't bounce back from this. If the Oakland line is going to be this bad, we're in a bit of trouble. No mistaking, Brooks is the anchor guy of this particular trio, the guy we'd probably play most weeks. If the anchor is weak, we might be in a spot of trouble, especially with Rivers getting the Roethlisberger treatment right now.

Will the Oakland line be this bad going forward? And I assume Favre is the play this week.

I went the same route with the 3-headed monster that is Brooks, Rivers, Favre. I'm leaning towards dropping Brooks cuz that looked awful.

I missed this reply somehow. Chase, given the usage of Rivers last night, are you still thinking he's the play this week as opposed to Favre? Yeah, Tennessee's pass D looks horrible, but if they only pass 15 times again, it won't matter.

They only passed 11 times... I, too, am a Favre/Rivers owner. I like Rivers more this week than Favre. The Saints didn't look that bad last week, but like you said, if Rivers is handing off every play, it won't matter.
