Quick Yahoo! question (1 Viewer)

I want to add on my WW :

(1) add RB-X, drop TE-X

(2) add WR-X, drop TE-X (if RB pick-up didn't go through)

(3) add WR-X, drop WR-Y (if RB pick-up does go through)

In 1&2, TE-X is the same player; in 2&3, WR-X is the same player. I would like to add the RB with my first WW claim, then add the WR with my second WW claim; I would prefer to release the TE only, if one of the claims does not go through but I cannot figure out how to set this up. The only way I am able to enter it is to either put in two separate players to release, or release the same player (TE-X) but not have the second move available if the first goes through (player to be released would not be on my roster anymore); any ideas?

Depends entirely on your league software.

ESPN allows the exact scenario you've highlighted above (where you rank your drops in the same way you rank your pickups).

Yahoo! does not; it will overwrite your dropped player and not allow you to make multiple claims of the same player with different drop scenarios.

No clue about Yahoo, but I guess I'd be surprised if the different systems worked much different for waivers done in rounds. In MFL you would do:

In your first round, put in these two:

* add RB-X, drop TE-X

* add WR-X, drop TE-X (if RB pick-up didn't go through)

In your second round put in this one:

* add WR-X, drop WR-Y (if RB pick-up does go through)

If you get RB-X in the first, then you'll get WR-X in the second.

If you get WR-X in the first, then your second round won't matter since WR-X is no longer available.

If I am reading the OP correctly, on Yahoo this year (at least from what I've seen in both custom and public leagues) I don't think you can do the following:

(2) add WR-X, drop TE-X (if RB pick-up didn't go through)

(3) add WR-X, drop WR-Y (if RB pick-up does go through)

Essentially, you can't put in multiple claims for the same waiver player with more than one player from your team. Put another way, if you put in the third waiver claim, it will override the second.

One way to achieve this would be:

(1) add RB-X, drop TE-X

(2) add WR-X, drop WR-Y

This would allow you to potentially pick up both players you want, but at the potential expense of both players from your team -- if you value WR-Y more than WR-X, you could go this way:

(1) add RB-X, drop TE-X

(2) add WR-X, drop TE-Y

This way, if the RB-X pick is not available, the TE is used to snag WR-X.

This is obvious advice but I usually drop a K or DEF and sort out the other players after. Even if you really like your K it's not like people are going to scramble to pick the guy up.

there are no conditional waivers in Yahoo.

You cannot specify that if waiver claim one and two go through that the waivers should then ignore waiver three and four.

The only control you have is that once the a player is removed from your team in a waiver transaction, any other lower priority waivers with the

same player will be ignored.

you need to focus on the player you want to move and build waivers around the player
