Raiders vs Cards (1 Viewer)

Shipp and Arrington returning kickoffs.

Leinart floats an ugly one to Fitz, inc, nearly picked. James up th e middle nothing there. James almost picks up the first stumbling with a screen pass. Three and out.

Morrison all over the place on defense.

 
Curry and Porter get the start at WR.

Jordan sitting this one out. Fargas at RB.

Raiders OL giving Josh McCown time, but he missed badly. Three and out.

 
Another 3 and out for the Cards. Leinart moving around trying to make plays. Edge came out on 3rd and Arrington came in.

Raiders D looks stout, AZ OL not so much.

 
Another 3 and out, but Dominic Rhodes showed nice burst on a run, and Kiffin ran a couple staple plays from USC (WR screen and a bootleg flat pattern). Again the Raider OL looks strong, but McCown isn't making plays. AZ's lines both look sorry so far.

Shipp taking over for Edge. Makes a nice run for the first first down of the game!!!! :bag:

Leinart overthrows another floater over Fitz, Schweigert almost get the pick. Both QBs looks rusty.

Boldin converts another first with a little dump and run.

One of my favorite moments of the year. Football is back baby. Watching the game closely, let me know what you are looking for (especially Cards). I am gonna be a rabid fan enjoying the return of football for the next 3 hours, but if you want info about a individual player or general impressions let me know and i will take note.

Drive 1 Cardinals:

1st Fitz DROPS easy 7 yard out.

2nd Edge 1 yard gain.

3rd Edge 8 yard screen pass.

Punt.

McCown gets start for raiders, 3 and out.

Cards 3 and out for 2nd possession.

Raiders stopped by CB Eric Green on 3rd down, punt. Green has already made 3 nice plays.

Shipp makes a nice 5 yard gain form own five then makes a nice run on 2nd down for the first 1st down of the game. I'm telling you Shipp is gonna be apart of the Cards offense.

OK, I'm being obnoxious, but this is sooooo great.

 
Leinart still floating anything over five yards and almost picked again. Tommy Kelly is under pressure from Quentin Moses and playing well with a sack and a hurry.

AZ punting.

 
Raiders driving. AZ DL getting fiesty, but the Raider OL still winning this battle. Gallery looks like a decent LT, twilight zone stuff really. McCown is the biggest problem in Oakland. BMW getting some WR3 snaps.

Leinart is notorious for starting slow in games. Its too be expected.

But it doesnt bode well for his preseason appearance because he wont play much.

 
Bryant Johnson

59 yards, 40 YAC from Warner. TD. 2nd catch on the 4 play 84 yard drive. Caught it in stride and broke a tackle.

 
My thoughts so far. I'm a Cardinals fan, so I'll stick to the Cards (am posting about mid second quarter):

- Leinart hasn't looked too good. Not too concerned. Making right reads, timing was off though. Taking it with grain of salt as its preseason. Wouldn't be acceptable in regular season.\

- Shipp has looked very, very good. Might be the story of the game. I have the feeling he's going to play a lot.

- Edge played sparingly. Did OK on a couple of carries. Probably looked better than box score indicates.

- O line started slow, but improved throughout the first quarter.

- Fitz made a fantastic catch down the sideline. However also dropped an easy one in his hands.

- B. Johnson took a slant about 60 yards to the house.

- Quan only had one catch I remember, but ran over the tackler on the play.

- Pope started for the Cards at TE. Hasn't done too much. One catch I remember.

- On D, Berry looks very good, very quick.

- Rolle continues to stink. Got called for P.I., though it was a dubious call. Not looking good.

- Cards D has looked pretty good overall, though some dumb penalties. They've played more 4-3 than 3-4.

 
3rd string QB for the Cards throws a Pick 6. The guy who ran it back is the guy who got burned on the B. Johnson TD, so call it a wash.

 
Leinart and Warner both done for the night. Shane Boyd in for his first series with 8 minutes and change in the second quarter. First pass intercepted and returned for a TD. :bag: Completely telegraphed it. U-G-L-Y.

Coaching staff is reportedly upset that no one on the roster looks like QB3 . Boyd not disproving it so far.

Sitting out with a bad back. Fargas looks like he might fit the ZBS, he might get a few carries this year, especially early in the year.6 straight 3rd down conversions by the Raiders. They already look better than all of last year.Zach Miller looks very nice.
 
Fade to BMW in the corner of the endzone. TD Raiders. If this guy can contribute, I'd be so surprised.

Kiffin's offense looks great. Very WCO.
