Rams hire schottenheimer as oc (1 Viewer)

I don't like the move one bit. Maybe good for Sjax last couple years. WRs are a train wreck and it will be Bradford's 4th OC in 4 years. Not good IMO

McDaniels left to go back to The Patriots, whether it was Schottenheimer or someone else Bradford was going to get a new OC.

It may have helped if it was someone who ran a similar system. He played well under Shumur so maybe another WC style guy? I don't think Shotty's offense is similar to McD's and I know its not a WC style.

He had Sanchez as his QB. Cant put all the blame on him.
True about Sanchez, but I've watched the genius of Shoddy for several years now. If an opponent is ranked last in rushing defense, he will throw it 50 times. If a team is lousy against the pass, he will run it 40 times. He utilizes all this movement on offense to fool the defense, but all it does is draw the offense into illegal procedure and offside penalties. His mantra is to fool the defense, yet from time to time, you'll read in the paper how the defense was correctly calling out all the plays. The best part: let's say we're on a drive successfully running and gaining nice yardage on each play. All of a sudden he will call some stupid trick play and put us on second and 20 to successfully kill a drive.Even when the jets were making it to the Championship game, I was praying that Schottenheimer would take another job. Most people will be unhappy with their team's OC, but this guy is "special". Pennington and Favre had way better seasons after leaving Shoddy, but who knows, maybe Bradford defies the odds.

That offense in NY had some pieces in place, but was definitely missing something. I am sure it lies some where in between Sanchez being below average and the OC being dreadful as well. I don't see how this is going to help Bradford or that young team at all. That locker room was a mess in NY and a large part of that has to go on the offense who did not get it done.
