Ran a 10k FFL Season III - SFBayDuck does his best NYG impression (1 Viewer)

Between Gronk not playing and mistakenly dropping the wrong ####### Davante last week my team is a disaster.  :wall:

ooooooof that's why you dropped him?  You should've said something.  I just figured you dropped him after laying the goose egg.

:boxing:

Starting simien seemed like a good call.

Why is @SFBayDuck in the roadies division?
Because I knew his team sucked and would be an easy division win.

I just randomly named the divisions and then did the same thing as last year - split up the teams using the even/odd draft picks.

Figured - duck might need to move. ;)

I sucked this week, that's for sure. No Rodgers, no Dez, and Golden Tate sucks = no points.

Crazy to look at the standings and see @SteelCurtain among the best scoring yet 1-4.

I'm lucky so far, barely outscoring my opponents yet haven't lost yet.
Story of my life.

I'll probably BQ by 20 minutes this fall and the BAA will announce that in 2018, they are lowering the field size down to 500 runners.  ;)

1-4 but about to go on a run, apologies in advance for the series of ###-kicking I'm about to dish out.

I had to laugh when I checked the scores on Friday AM and saw Johnson and Fitz hung 70 something on you the night before.   :football:

:kicksrock:

This week was like being on pace in a 10k for a PR, then making a wrong turn, running into a flock of geese and tripping on goose poop. :bag:

Just in case folks aren't aware, ESPN does a projected playoffs bracket.  Here's the link -> http://games.espn.com/ffl/h2hplayoffs?leagueId=1177669

Full standings below.... Lots of things are and probably will change in the next few weeks.  6 teams within a game of #5 seed.

Code:
1:  PBM           8-2  1138.2  **BYE**
2:  Ned           7-3  1205.0  **BYE**
3:  ChiefD        7-3  1063.8
4:  FUBAR         6-4  1029.8
5:  Steel Curtain 5-5  1128.4
6:  Sand          5-5  960.6

7:  Juxt          5-5  937.7

9:  Tri-man       4-6  1041.0
10: gruecd        4-6  1019.8
11: ThreeThousand 3-7  999.5
12: Nigel         2-8  937.8

Potential rule change for 2017?  Make the #6 seed the highest total points of the remaining teams.  We've done this in previous leagues I've commished and it works well to help balance out the freak schedule issues.

Case in point... poor Duck is #5 scoring team, but is on the outside looking in because of scheduling.

Quite the Cluster#### for the final playoff spot with 1 week left!  @tri-man 47, @SFBayDuck, @gruecd are all within 14.5pts, but the matchups are the key with Grue having the clear edge with Tri & Duck going against the top 2 scoring teams and Grue playing the lowest scoring team.

Tri vs Ned
Duck vs SteelCurtain
Grue vs Nigel

Just like my two ultra lotteries this weekend, "so you're saying there's a chance!"

Realized I never posted the payouts.  This is what we did last year - since we have less teams this year, I just roughly prorated it.

2016 Payouts: 1st - $130, 2nd - $70, Top regular season points = $40

2015 Payouts: 1st - $150, 2nd - $100, Top regular season points = $70

I'm not sure how ESPN maintains the total points in the standings once the playoffs start, so I'm saving them here....

Ned - 1522.2

PBM - 1442.5

STEEL CURTAIN - 1397.3

CHIEFD - 1386.8

FUBAR - 1361.6

SFBAYDUCK - 1354.6

Gruecd - 1332

TRI-MAN - 1320.8

3K - 1307.1

SAND - 1242.5

NIGEL - 1235.7

JUXT - 1211.3

I draft David Johnson instead of AP at 1.7 and I'd be 7-6 instead of 5-8.  :kicksrock:   (Then again, Todd Gurley went at 1.6.)  Seems like an odd year all the way around with some big early injuries.

 I did a little happy dance when DJ fell to me at 8.  Getting DJ and Bell felt criminal...

@SFBayDuck pulls off the upset!
It was my great coaching and lineup decisions that did it:

Although picking up the Falcons D and their 26 points on Wednesday worked out pretty well for me.

I'm just glad you tagged me in this post...I didn't check after the morning games and just assumed I lost thanks to Gordon and Dez.

:bag:   Just looked at the draft, and the only reason I can figure I made that call is that I assumed I'd get a WR and after Brown/Jones/Beckham/Hopkins all went, I panicked.

It is always kind of entertaining to look back at a draft at the end of the year.  Huge busts (and not the good kind) all over the first 20 picks with Hopkins (1.5), Gurley (1.6), Peterson (1.7), Gronk (1.10), Robinson (1.12), Cam (2.2), Bryant (2.7), and Lacy (2.8)   Does show how important the later rounds and playing the waver wire are, as I squeezed into the playoffs and now the 2nd round despite total whiffs on my first two picks.  Oh yeah and luck.  In the end it pretty much comes down to luck - if you drafted a great team but happened to play against Bell (2nd-3rd round in most drafts) and Bilal Powell (round 10 or later) in round 1 of the playoffs (like I did in another league), you're done.

I demand a recount!

(And I wonder what Duck treasures more, a WS entry or an FFA playoff berth?  It's gotta be close...)
Yeah, not that close.....

Wow, @SFBayDuck does it again.

@FUBAR is going to need a monster game out of Kirk Cousins.  My gamble on Montgomery paid off.   :suds:

And of course right on cue.... @ChiefD drops 140.
