Randy chats with the media (1 Viewer)

Bottom line is this is a great move for the Patriots...and given the Patriots style a mediocre one for Moss owners.
This is a horrible fallacy. NE exposes mismatches of both player and scheme. They do not spread the ball around because they just want to. They do it because they have some of the best and brightest coaches who realize that the NFL is about match-ups and mismatches. Moss creates those. Oak was coached like a Jr. High football team and couldn't diagnose a mismatch if they broke it down with X's and O's on the megatron screen's in every stadium. NE has never had a player or target of Moss' caliber. They have never had a WR who's very presence on the field is a mismatch. They have had a bunch of guys who are better than average at one thing or the other but those strengths individually meshed better as a whole. Moss will be targeted quite a bit in NE. NE will not force him the ball. They wont have to though. If he is singled up you better believe that Brady will be looking that way early and often. NE ha a slew of weapons on O now. When teams realize that Moss can beat them 1 on 1 or even 2 on 1, they will get slaughtered in the slot and on the ground. This is scary for the entire AFC. :excited:

:goodposting: quote from Belichick: "over the last 9 years in the NFL, no player knows and understands double coverage better than Randy Moss"NE hasn't ever really had a WR that commanded double coverage... now they may have 2!and it's funny... Moss is getting all the attention here, but Adalius Thomas is still the most important move NE made this off season. Moss is a toy for this team... if he breaks, it's no big deal because they got him on the discount rack.. Adalius is the prize and the future for NE.

Delusions,It's not at all apples and oranges. We're talking about dis-respecting and having a negative impact on an organization. I think that you are being too harsh on Randy Moss. Each of these players ostensibly "quit" on their respective teams. Of them Ricky Williams IMHO hurt his team the most. Then I would say Barry Sanders comes in next. Neither of them gave their teams anything close to a reasonable time to re-group prior to the beginning of the season and they left their teams in the "lurch". Even Corey Dillon gave up on his team by repeatedly claiming to be injured in his last year prior to going to New England; sound familiar.I don't see how you can give these guys a free pass and then come down so hard on Moss.Additionally, both Manning and Elway completely dis-respected the organizations and fan bases that drafted them. They put themselves way above the "team" and in nearly an equivalent fashion to the one you are claiming Moss did.

I'd also ask you to tell us all if you believe the following players "quit" on their teams.Barry Sanders on the LionsCorey Dillon on the BengalsRicky Williams on the DolphinsEli Manning on the ChargersJohn Elway on the ColtsI'd say that they all quit on the respective teams ... what do you think?
Comparing Randy Moss to the examples you give are like apples and oranges. The above players didn't want to play for those teams, in come cases never did play for those teams, and didn't give less than 100% when playing for those teams.
