Randy Cross is the worst NFL announcer ever (1 Viewer)

Ghost Rider

How many times was he going to call Bill Belichick the wrong name while calling the Miami/NE game? He referred to him as Bill Cowher AT LEAST four times. I am not sure how you get the name of the coach who has won three of the last four Super Bowls wrong, but he kept managing to do it.

Sterling Sharpe gives him a good run.
:goodposting: Seriously, there are a lot of bad announcers out there. Many "color guys" are ex-NFL guys that know football (allegedly) but cannot express themselves. Keep in mind it is live, but yes there are some bad ones for sure. Many have a bias (strong, stealthy or otherwise) towards their ex-teams, their relatives (Sharpe) or particular players (Madden / Favre).

Would make for an interesting thread to discuss them all.

I'm so glad someone else agrees with me. I've been saying this for years. Cross is horrible. I remember one game where he didn't understand a very simple rule (concerning replay) and kept asserting his position OVER AND OVER. Even after the replay review came down, he still kept at it. I actually had to turn the channel. The guy's an idiot and brings absolutely nothing to the game. How is still has a job is beyond me.

WAit til CBS gets Jerome Bettis, I think he's going to be great. Hes great with people and is so charismatic, he seems like a perfect fit to be on NFL Today

Neil O'Donnell did the Cards/Colts game. There IS NO WAY ANYONE IS WORSE THEN HIM.
That *was* pretty awful.
Up until today I would have easily nominated Maas and Cross. However Neil O'Donnell and whoever he was working with showed me new levels of ineptitude that clearly deserve nomination for this award of worst NFL announcer.

I was at the game - I wish I recorded it just to hear how bad they were. I've seen this comment in other forums.
