Rank These Late Round/Sleeper WRs for 2007 (1 Viewer)

Discuss/comment/rank the following WRs for the 2007 season. I have been thinking about all of these guys and am unsure how I rank them.

My thoughts/rankings as of today (and these change almost daily):

1. Jacoby Jones - I love the Texans as a sleeper fantasy offense for 2007. I think the DEF will be bad which will lead to a lot of offense. Jones has looked dynamite when he has been on the field. 2 special teams TDs and a very nice TD catch yesterday. A potentially elite WR in AJ to take some pressure off and an upgrade at QB. My top WR sleeper out of this group.

2. Brandon Marshall - I like Marshall but have yet to see much out of him. At this point I think that his ranking is all based on potential.

3. Demetrius Williams - I've read where the Ravens tried to trade Mason in the offseason. That speaks well for Williams. If he was the #2 WR he would be #1 on this list. When and if he overtakes Mason this year (or if he starts due to injury) he'll be a huge target. He reminds me of Chris Henry but without the court problems.

4. James Jones - Has shown flashes. Obviously has much more value if Driver is injured - which it appears he is not. I like him as a 3rd WR in that offense because they'll be throwing a lot.

5. Patrick Crayton - If Glenn isn't a starter on week 1 you have just struck gold with him (you can get him in the last round). He'll be solid in that offense and great as a WR4 you can play on bye.

6. Bobby Wade - I don't care if he is the starter. He's never done anything in his career and that offense is terrible through the air.

How do you see it?

i think you have to move wade up. jackson has to throw to someone and it is harder to guess how rooies will do.
I've been thinking about that too. The problem is that Wade is a vet and if he hasn't made it by now I seriously doubt that Jackson is the man that can make him break out this late. And he'll also be covered by the #1 CB from the other team most likely. Not a good scenario.

Brandon Marshall doesn't belong on this list. He is very far ahead of all those players.

For what it's worth,

1. Marshall

2. D. Williams

3. Jac. Jones

4. Crayton

5. Jones

6. Wade

Why exactly? What has he ever done in the NFL? He had just over 300 yards last year. Not exactly earth shattering. I think he is being drafted way too early. I have to see something from him first. So to me he is still a later round WR.EDIT: Also, the Footballguys have Marshall (117 points) ranked right along Wade (115) and Williams (110) and not far from Crayton (89).

Same can be said for all of them if you ask me. To each his own though, I just personally won't consider any of them before him. Good luck.

There is no correct answer to this. Lol.

Just want everyone else's opinion. What I meant by Marshall is that he hasn't really shown me anything when given the chance, including this preseason. And while I know it is "just preseason" I really am starting to see the talent in some of these WRs.

Everyone has the same names on their sleeper list this year. That can't be good.

Everyone has the same names on their sleeper list every year, it's not a bad thing. We all know the depth charts for every team, so it's just a matter of one of the guys actually doing something.

Part of the answer to this question is what do you need in a 4/5/6 WR?

If you want someone that you can definately use for byes, low upside but solid play for 60-90 yards and a 40/60 TD chance every week then you might look Wade as the only #1 WR listed.

If you want upside, Jones or Williams might be your preference.

What about Brandon Jones, wouldnt he be on this list, or does consensus have him ranked higher than these guys?

I want both.

Not high on that Jones at all. Especially after a terrible training camp and preseason...
Brandon Jones played behind Roydell Williams and was targeted just once by Vince Young during Friday night's exhibition game.Jones' inconsistent camp has apparently caused him to lose his starting job to Williams. He needs to be knocked well down cheat sheets if he's not starting. He's talented enough to be Tennessee's top option if he regains the job, but we'd avoid him until then.

I haven't been able to see any Texans pre-season action, but this Jones kid name keeps coming up. Is he the favorite to start opp AJ? Does he look to have a connection w/Schaub?

Thanks for the Jones tidbit. Great info.In regard to you "wanting both" - there is a reason these guys are on the sleeper list. If they had both upside AND consistency, they would be drafted long before these guys. So, you usually have a trade off - someone like Wade with perhaps very limited upside but could be a good #3, or other players who may surprise and end top 20 but will more likely end up outside the top 50.

As late as most of these guys are going (Marshall excluded) they would most likely be WR5 or WR6 so at that point I guess I am shooting for more upside.

I've been targeting guys like Santonio Holmes and Cotchery as my WR3s.

I have been a high supporter of both D Williams and Marshall this preseason (I agree that Marshall is in a different tier at least ADP based), Demetrius Williams seems to be off the radar and its probably my favorite sleeper pick of the season, though with Glenn injured it would not surprise me if Crayton ends up being the most productive in that list as I expect Romo to pass a lot (even with that RB tandem) and Crayton could benefit a lot.
