Ravens 7-2 - Anybody buying it? (1 Viewer)

That last "lucky win" was without their all-world middle linebacker. (Another SI cover jinx, perhaps?)

I like their chances in the playoffs. I don't know about them going to the Super Bowl, but I could see them in the AFC Championship game.

With a 3 game lead over CIN with 7 games left I think they will win the AFC North. Still need to play Cin once and Pit twice though. If they do win that will give them a home playoff game against a wild card team. I'd be surprised to see them in the AFC Championship game.

I could see them winning a home game in the playoffs, but I just can't see them beating Indy, NE, or the AFC West winner in the 2nd round.

Indy & NE are the only 2 I have trouble seeing them beat.Anybody else is fair game.
They usually play Denver tough, but I think the Chargers would beat them in a rematch. SD dominated much of the game earlier this season, and, in essence, gave it away. I do not think they would make that mistake again, especially since Tomlinson and Rivers are now both playing at a much higher level than they were back in September.

:goodposting: SD wins in rematch...in BAL or SD. Ravens will get to playoffs, but lose the first game....

They remind me quite a bit of Chicago Bears 2005 with a much worse running game.
Except the Ravens defense isn't as good as Chicago's was last season. The Ravens still have a very good defense, but it is not the dominant unit it used to be.
Even more reason for them to be 1 and done in the playoffs this year.
It all depends on what team they face. Denver or SD will likely be a wild card, while the other is the division winner, but if the Ravens face the other wild card team, whatever team that is might not be as threatening, and the Ravens could end up winning.

Not dominant, but experienced. I think I'd take the experience of the Ravens D with a vet QB in McNair over what the Bears had in the playoffs last season.

One difference in their favor is they have shown they can come back when it counts.

McNair can manage a game and with a healthy Ray Lewis that D is still real tough. I don't think they go anywhere in the playoffs but I do think they're that team no one wants to face.

There's a time clock, field position battle they can win that might not make you feel they're the best team but if they win.....

With that defense and a healthy McNair, yes, they can win it all. I'm a bit bias though since I bet $50 on them in Vegas before the season started to win it all. (28-1)

worse 7-2 team....they are more like a 4-5 team to me
7-2 teams are Denver, SD and Balt. I'd lump them all together.Balt has allowed less points then SD but more then Den.Balt has scored less points then SD but more then Den.Balt has a worse point difference then SD but better then Den.Balt beat SD but lost to Denver.I guess we'll know a lot more after next week when Den plays SD.

Balt has a very good defense and a poor offense. Can they win it all? Sure it's possible but I certainly wouldn't bet on it. Yes, they beat SD but if those two teams played 10 times I'd say SD wins 7 of them.
