Ravens are so stupid (1 Viewer)

Definitely stupidity on the part of the Ravens.

And to think, last year the Bengals NEVER stopped anyone with a first and goal from the 5. Now they are 1 for 1 this year thanks to the Ravens not running the ball into the endzone.

I think McGahee stinks, but I'd bet the farm they'd get the TD if they just gave it to him everytime down there.

For such an offensive genius it never ceases to amaze me how horrible his offense normally is.
it's not easy when the organization is spending the majority of cash on the other side of the ball... although i agree that the offenses he's put out as the ravens coach have been mediocre to down right bad, he usually makes the most of what he has to work with IMHO... winning the superbowl with dilfer is no easy task regardless of how great the defense is... however, i do question the personnel changes he's made throughout this career with balt... finding jamal lewis can only carry you so far

uhh, McGahee has always sucked at short yardage, in case you haven't been paying attention
Boller sucks worse at playing quarterback.
take a look at his game log from last year.....you may change your mind. Hes really not all that bad, he just got thrown to the wolves at an age when 99% of QBs are still in college to begin his career.
He's shown little to no improvement since he's come in the league IMO. He still makes some terrible decisions. I don't care what the marginal improvement in his stats may say, my eyes say he's still horrible.
How many times did you see him play last year? What about his 5 TDs, 2 INTs, decent yardage, and great QB rating with a poor surrounding cast didn't you like exactly?

I think the Boller bashing and play calling ridicule are misguided tonight. Boller threw TD passes 2 times to Heap. The first one was bad call on the ref. Heap did not commit a penalty IMO. But that happens. And later Boller makes another TD throw to Heap and he doesn't make the catch and it becomes an INT.

Boller did his job in a hostile environment with his back to the wall. The play calling was obviously good beacuse they had TD's twice but the refs blew the call and Heap didn't make the catch.

So as a Bengal fan, I'm happy to get the win and even if they get the call who says Cincy doesn't come back and win anyway? But Balt and Boller did their part, they just didn't get the call to go their way.

I've never eve heard of McGahee, but in a situation like that, it sounds like he shoulda got the rock.
 :blackdot:  If you look on the first page you will be able to get his whole life story. There are only about 10 threads on him tonight.

I personally understand that the pass to Heap did work and should have been a TD but for the refs screw up and Heap's own fault.

But, the facts are this is exactly why the run play is the higher % play there.....and hence should have been attempted. When you try to throw to a TE in heavy traffic in the red zone, chances are always high that the ball will bounce off his hands because he is worried to get popped as soon as he catches it. That is why you run the ball....especially when you get a Rb in the off season to be able to improve on that part of your game.

Running time off the clock so Cincy wouldn't have time to score was another reason they should have run.

Well let's see. There was the TD to Heap, which was called back on a phantom penalty. Then there was the next TD to Heap which he unfortunately played volleyball with instead of catching.

So it's hard to fault the playcalling. 1 TD, and should've been another. The plays worked.

 I agree and concede that the PI call on Heap was horrific and the Heap should probably caught the "second" TD pass as well. I think the playcalling sucked for I have to figure that it is a lower percentage play to have your "cold", backup QB throw a bullet to a TE in traffic in the end zone rather than bash it in a couple of more times with your star RB.I believe many coaches, Brian Billick and others, often try to be too "cute" with their playcalling whether its to show they're smart at this coaching thing, feel the need to play with their multi-million dollar toys, or just trying to justify their own salaries. It might have been Lombari (or maybe it wasn't, I'm not sure) who said that if something is working, keep doing it until they stop it and make you do something else.I would have scored more points this week if I sat Reggie Bush and played the Vikings D/ST at my flex, but that doesn't mean it would have been the smart play.
