you dont get it do you? this is the ravens offense, punish the defense like he did and let mcnair open the game up like he did as well. granted it was against NO

It's tough to grind out 5 YPC when you're up by 21 at the half and commit to run almost exclusively the entire 2nd half. New Orleans knew they were going to sit on the lead and they probably stacked the line to counteract that as best as they could.
New Orleans has a pretty good Run D this year & were putting 8 in the box all game long long.
I thought when Billick fired Fassell, he would ditch the RBBC & just go back to feeding Lewis the ball. Lewis just kept grinding & grinding and opened up the play action for McNair & Co.
If you stuck with Lewis, he looks good to go from here on out IMO.
I'm a Lewis owner and I'm HAPPY about yesterday's game - the guy got 30+ carries. Sure, 31 for 107 isn't great, but it's better than the 17 for 44 we've been getting, and Musa Smith and Mike Anderson barely sniffed the field.

exactly, and once he gets really going he'll be pulling out 20 30 maybe even 40 yard runs and breaking 2-3 tackles a carry. but like I said NO is maybe a decent defense but who do they have strong enough to consistently bring down a 250 pound back?
You said you traded him for Driver and then you say Green? My point is that maybe your response is sour grapes for giving up on him?I really don't know if Jamal can rebound as there still seem to be questions about if he will run aggressively. His getting most of the carries is the first positive sign in a long time though.
and Trent Dilfer will come our of retirement to lead them to a superbowl victory. Not going to happen. If just being big and strong were enough to be a productive NFL back the names Lorenzo Neal and Fred Beasly would be up there with Tomlinson and LJ. Lewis is not running with either speed or power, nor has he in some time. The idea that as he gets more carries and we get further into the season he is going to improve is some serious wishful thinking- my vote is on Lewis wearing down before defenses do.
Please note that Lewis had 31 rushes and 3 first downs. That is not moving the chains, that is wasting a down. When you have 31 carries for 107 yards and are still the #18 back for the week in FPs with a game yet to go- i would not call that a breakout game. Lewis was able to put up a hundred yard game because the rest of the team was dominating- not vice versa. That wont be lost on the coaching staff. Another back in the same situation would be expected to have produced quite a bit more. Asode from picking up 3 first downs and burning the clock, how did Jamal impact the game? Could you plug in just about any back in the league and get a similar impact (if not better)? I think its hard to argue no- short of a fumbler having a negative impact.
