RB controversy in Seattle? (1 Viewer)

After two consecutive shaky outings, the Patriots have announced that Matt Cassel will be starting this week's game in place of Tom Brady.

Alexander is by far the worst "elite" running back in the history of the NFL. That is, of course, if anyone even puts him in that category anymore.

Without a top offensive line, he looks like trash. Healthy, unhealthy, this excuse or that excuse, he's not even in the same galaxy as LT or LJ. Those guys get hit in the backfield time and time again yet keep producing. Anyone watching the Chiefs today would've saw that also, and I don't doubt that LT will have it tough tonight.

And Alexander makes the Niners look like the '85 Bears.

Obviously, a healthy Shawn Alexander isn't going to share carries with anyone......but what if Alexander is only at 80% the rest of the season? Morris' last two games have shown that there's no need to rush Alexander back before he's 100%.
This is key, SA will not be getting every carry.
I think you should start Morris every week when SA comes back.
Would you be willing to bet that Alexander gets 23+ carries his first game back?
Why did you pick 23?
He just had a Dr Pepper! :banned:

Unfortunately I agree. He spent the last 2 seasons working for a new contract and played better than ever. Now he's back to the Shaun Crumpler days. I give him another game to get his head back on the game before I make any harsh judgements. But since week 1 he's looked weak.

Both of you are complete idoits. You have no idea what your talking about. How baout looking at every year since he came in for Ricky watters. He didn't have one big year, look at Alabama. it was his first game back after a long lay-off on a broken foot, with a depleted offence. He also had a couple runs called back.

I've watched every single game he's played in a Seahawk uniform. I feel I am qualified to notice his running style and make an informed judgement. He's looked like ### since the NFC cahmpionship game. I think he played very hard and improved his deficiencies the last 2 years but in the 3 games prior to getting hurt and today he was back to that same form. He scores a lot of TDs but except for last year he's been the one back you DON'T want in there on 3rd and short. And he showed that today. However, since it;s his first game back I want to wait and see what he does next game. I guess you missed that in my post.Personally, I was for letting him go and getting Chester Taylor. Never in my life have I seen someone taken down in the backfirld by one arm in my life.

You guys don't seem to understand his question.

Obviously a healthy SA isn't going to be benched for Mo Morris, and arguably even an unhealthy SA is a better option, but still....

He means to ask whether Holmgrem might be inclined to have SA split time with MM until he's fully healthy, which may be next week, or may be another month.

I think it's a valid question.

Obviously if SA starts Week 13 like he did this week, Morris will be seeing more action.

That said, I expect SA to be back to his pre-injury form... which is averaging about 3.5ypc and being held to very modest numbers this season.
