My vote is always for sale and the two of you are bringing up some very valid points and reasons. I'm going to research this some tonight with the drive charts, that might shed a little light on this. It seemed like Rice was used less in the 2nd half/4th qtr, but I could be wrong.
What happened to McGahee speaking about Rice being the RB1 pretty much in the preseason?
I'm not sure but I caught part of the Charger-Raven game yesterday and both RBs looked very effective. I was surprised to see McGahee being used between the 20s so much. I think this is a fluid situation that may change over the course of the season depending on who the "hot hand" is. I just think what McGahee may lose in catches, which has not been much so far, is more than made up for in TD potential.Edit to add: Rice has 7 receptions to McGahee's 6 so far. Again, only 2 games in but interesting nonetheless.
This may just be a bit of

, but this is McGahee's last year under contract with Balt. if I remember corrctly. Could the Balt. staff be using him this much early on, A) to keep Rice fresh for later in the year when feature backs generally tend to slow due to the beatings early on? and B) to possibly build up some value for him before the trade deadline and ship him off for whatever they can get?
Seems if by allowing him to still prove useful, some team (Houston?) may be willing to part with say a late round pick to get something?
